Try giving him a tainted soul, or something along those lines, anyway.

At the risk of not being very helpfull, I was using an Elven Fighter/Mage/Druid with Linu and i basically just started hitting him and kept hitting him 'till he stopped moving. Needless to say, this involved the use of a LOT of healing potions, even after feeding him the tainted soul. :)

There should be a dumb blue dragon somewhere near there, slay it (two dragons in one sitting  ) when it is in that circle/square/runish thing on the floor.

You should be able to aquire an item which the red dragon wants.

Sorry if im a little sketchy on the details, I haven't played the game for.....ages to say the least.

Anyway, performing this task, and giving red dragon guy the item you recieve, it will take his health right down.

One thing however, I still had trouble after doing this, and that was with my Paladin at about level 13 or something and with a henchman (who died all of the time *hint*hint* to who that is)
