[IMG] Since PoR is going to be the first CRPG using the new 3rd edition rules for D&D; how do you think the game will be effected? From what I read 3rd Edition rules are expected to be a lot better for table top play, but will it make a different in a CRPG? What are poeple's opinions on the new classes and feats? Will PoR2 be as good as the original or is D&D sliping into the pit of 1st edition all over again?

    [IMG] On that subject...
My opinion would be that if anything, 3rd edition will bring back the people it lost along the way, plus a lot of new customers as well.
3rd edition will be much more simplified from the 2nd and easier to learn too. I think D&D is looking at a bright new era.

[IMG] I'm not so sure about 3rd edition. I mean, my favorite way of gaming is the advanced way of gaming, a true RPG. From what i'm hearing 3rd edition is an easier version of 2nd edition. It worries me that for once I won't like a forgotten realms game. So sad. :(

[IMG] The new D&D 3rd Edition rules will make playing easier. It takes the First and second editions of AD&D takes the best of them, then adds to it.

The 3E will make creating and playing alot easier for everyone. There are not the restrictions that you had to memorize (or know what page to look up).

POR will be 3E (mostly). Rangers will not be able to attack with 2 weapons (they didn't have the time for programing). Also a few races were left out, and a Class or 2.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

[IMG] Wrong!!!! 3rd edition although it does borrow from others is largely original!!! And as for looking stuff up, that difficulty and style of play is what made me love BG and the forgotten realms so much!!!
