[IMG] I just couldn't forget good ol' Icewind Dale and decided to "make a run for it" with a capable party (at least in my opinion) and wanted your advice and opinion on it. Here it is:

1.- Human Male Paladin (ME  ) .
    2.- Half-Elf Female Fighter/Druid.
    3.- Half-Elf Female Cleric/Ranger.
    4.- Half-Elf Female Fighter/Thief.
    5.- Half-Elf Female Bard.
    6.- Half-Elf Female Mage.

    P.S.:

By the way, Do you notice my fascination with the female gender yet? :) .

Good party. I always have dwarves for clerics though. ;)

I always need two cleric types in the party, where one is a straight cleric and the other is a dwarf fighter/cleric. My best party was:
    Fighter, Human, Male
Fighter, Elf, Female (She was my archer)
    Fighter/Cleric, Dwarf, Male
    Cleric, Human, Female
    Illusionist, Human, Female
    Mage/Thief, Elf, Male

Your party looks pretty good though, especially the male to female ratio. ;)

[IMG] Now there, if you have some nice portraits for those ladies there that might even turn out to be fun ;) .

    [EDIT]Oh and it's a good party  [/EDIT]

    @Shadowhunter
I like halflings fighter/thieves, but half-elves are also good. I think you should have specialist mage instead of normal (conjurer is nice).

    @Keraptisdm
I had mage/thief too, but it's really annoying, that they get only one quick weapon slot

@Harkle: Yes, that little "restriction" was very annoying to say the least. But the combination of abilities, searching for traps while on the move, and casting spells during combat saved my butt many times. :) But he leveled up SO slowly, ugh!

    5 ladies... :)
nice party or should i say a beautiful party.

here's the party i'm playing with now.

    1. paladin - human
    2. fighter/cleric - human (dual)
    3. fighter/thief - halfling
    4. ranger - elf (scount & archer)
    5. bard - half-elf (for pickpocket bonus)
    6. invoker - human (i think a dualed fighter/invoker would be a better choice but coming from bg2 i thought i can't dualed to a mage specialist. i'm about to do dorn's deep when i found that it is possible.)

It's nice I'm not a big multi-class guy though I went with this
    Half elf Fighter Male
    Human Fighter Female
    Gnome Fighter Male
    Half elf Ranger Female
    Human Illusionist Female
    Male Conjurer Male
    And my fights were easy.

[IMG] BTW, when should I dual class my 2 fighters to mage and cleric (difficulty insane)? I have 3 fighters (2 to dual), 1 ranger, 1 fighter/thief and 1 mage/cleric in my party.

[IMG] Have you tried Heart of Fury mode? I find it better than Insane diff. But perhaps I'm the only one that may think so.

I've tried Heart of Fury, but not with 1st level characters. I like insane, because characters get experience faster than normal and battles are more challenging.

    How about this party?

    • Fraermir, human male fighter (good)
    • Jesella, gnomish female illusionist/thief (neutral)
    • Pytre, human male cleric (evil)
    • Lawrence D'Tol, half-elven ranger (good)

I am currently playing through HOF mode with three characters. All human. Two started off as fighters and dualled at level 6, one to a Cleric, one to a Thief. It's working out pretty well, actually. I would only change one thing if I could go back and do it over, I would have dualled to a Druid, not a Cleric. There are enough creatures that can only be damaged by magical attacks to be a real pain in the butt, and the Cleric is somewhat lacking in offensive magic spells, whereas with the Druid, I would have a few more options. Oh well.

[IMG] Never try HoF with a new party in Easthaven :nono: it takes forever to kill the buggies and gobbies and orcies and ogies

And it took me three (3!) hours to kill Ichythingmebobdragonqueenlady - I had no spells left and sparse hp, a lot of potions were consumed and a lot of paladins used there hands to heal :coffee:

Umm... hate to break it to you, man, but I'm already in Kresselack's tomb, it was a new party when I started the game. So it is possible. I just relied VERY heavily on the bard's Chromatic Orb, and then the Hold Person spell as well when I got it, and when I finally got Animate Dead, well, that's when things got easier.

Oh, the nice thing about Hold Person, or Chromatic Orb, and Web when you get it, is that a ranged weapon(you did give your guys proficiency in missile weapons, bows, or crossbows, right?) will never miss a stunned/held/webbed enemy.
