HOW Worldmap bug

    [​IMG] After talking to the ranger emmerich my worldmap is updated, when i enter the worldmap now the game crashes, so I can't leave Loneleywood.

    I have allready re-installed the game several times and I intalled the patch also, when installing the game it says "couln't rename override folder' and it creates then a 'override_BAK' folder.

    I can only install the game on medium and HOW only on small/compact, that is because I don't have IWD cd2 (It's broken)

    Is anyone familiar with this problem or does anyone know a solution to this bug, then please reply fast!

    Never heard of it. Did you make sure that after you uninstalled you went to the IWD install dir any cleaned up anything that was left over? I suspect in your case the Override folder was not deleted...
    Make a full uninstall and wipe the directories where you had the game installed clean. Then install IWD, then HoW and then apply the patch. After that you can move in the old savegames and it should work.

    [​IMG] I have also just encounteredthis same bug i can see the top 1 cm of the world map and the rest is blank! Does the patch actually fix this?

    There is no mention of this problem in the patch fixes list... I haven't heard anyone else except you two who had this problem either. Could be something hardware-related. Try tech support.

    [​IMG] There is a major hardware bug with HOW that causes it to freeze on the map screen.The only way I could get around it was to turn my video card off and then I might have 30 secs on the map screen to choose and click. The only other solution I have found is to use the cheats and warp.

    Try deleting the overide_bak folder. The error message that it is giving you is because that folder exsits. Therefore if it is deleted, it can create it anew and reinstall properly.
