Special Stat-related abilities

    The question is about what do you get if you get yur abilities over 18.

    I know if you have DEX 19, you get an extra 1/2 or a full attack with Bows.

    I know that if you get you CON to 20 (dwarfs with the Lonesome Road) you start to regenerate a small amount of HP.

    Do you people know of any other effects that you get after increasing your primary stats?

    [​IMG] Yes you do. Read your manual and it should tell what you'll get for higher stats.

    there are numerous Bonuses for stats above 18. take DEX. for example, thieves recieve bonuses to their abilities, you can get a lower AC if you get get your DEX. higher and bonuses to hit w/ a bow.

    Mages can get a better % to learn spells w/ a 19 or above INT.( there are 2 potions that can be found throughout BG and IWD that will temporarily raise Mages INT. which can be helpful when learning a new spell.

    Nightblade gave the best advice. there are numerous benfits, to many to list here.

    I HAVE READ MY MANUAL AT LEAST FOUR TIMES CAREFULLY.

    But as you can see, there is stuff that can not be found there. At least in my version of the Adobe Acrobat Manual I haven't found half of what Sylvus posted.

    [​IMG] it might be a stupid question, but how do u all get your chars to such high experience points? i'm in chapter 6 and all chars are about level 9.

    [​IMG] In fact, yaou also get an experience bonus with high WIS! I had a slightly advantage compared to my brother when we multi-played BG1, and I had one point WIS more.

    [​IMG] It's not just WIS that gives you the extra XP but the 16 in your prime requirements. In one of the stupidist rule in 2E you get a 10% bonus on XP if you have a 16 or higher in you prime requirements for the character. This never made much sense. Since you fighter is stronger he learms more from defeating foes? This is rather lame.

    Maverick, how the hell did you get to chapter 6 and only be level 9 in IWD. I was level 9 at the end of chapter 2. You must be skipping a lot of stuff.

    He may have had a party.
    My party was about level 9-12(I think) when I finished IWD, and as far as I know, I did everything there was to do.
