Sounds cool. How're you planning to do it, modding an existing game or what? I'm afraid I probably won't be much help, but [shameless plug]we did do a fanfic. Maybe you could work some aspects of that into the plot?[/shameless plug]

a sequel would be nice and long overdue, however, like Ironbeard asked, how?

    Check out http://www.geocities.com/magoo_3_16/

They have apparently been working on a Planescape mod for the Infinity Engine for some time. I haven't seen any updates on thier site in a while, but I think they are still working on it.

Actually, we plan to use a new engine, much alike the infinity, but a lot friendlier for mods - so the planes can be infinte at last :)

does that mean you are involved in making a mod for the game? if so, do you have a site with any info about it? i'm definitely watching the nwn mod, hoping that it will be done in the same spirit of the original game. i know i'm not the only fan who has replayed PST a number of times, in lieu of a sequel. there's no denying that a well-made, thoughtful mod would be very welcome. :rolling:

Hmm. I don't know how a sequel to Torment would work out.
I mean, the game is really...conclusive. No matter which ending one gets, there's an 'answer' of sorts: Fight in the Blood War, die, or do that other thing that I can't remember. Personally, I don't think that a game about fighting in the Blood War would be that interesting (but hey, they might pull it off)...and playing a dead-and-not-undead character isn't (usually) that much fun. I think that what might be a better idea would be to make a standalone game based in the same Planescape universe (that is to say, have some of the same characters (Annah, Morte, That Deva Whose Name I Can't Remember, POSSIBLY a cameo for The Nameless One and so on) and plot devices) but with a whole new main character--possibly even one who we can (*gasp*) customize a lot (a la Baldur's Gate).
Or, alternatively, an expansion pack could be done, adding in new areas, quests, spells, classes and maybe party members that/who are all encountered before the whole final battle bit.
That was more thought than I've had for a while. I'm gonna go take a nap.

Korsel, The Planescape universe (and ruleset, though it has been abandoned from official updates IIRC) extends a lot further than Torment. Annah, Morte, The Nameless One are not in the Planescape universe, they are only in the game. I won't comment on Trias as he may be in there (the rules and background books are hard to find and I don't know anyone who has them).

Also your BG idea has come up several times before in Torment sequel threads. A search for 'sequel' ought to reveal them.

Sounds like a good idea, for everyone else. But, I know nothing about this kind of stuff.

Like it has been said, the story can't really continue well. It just doesn't work out. But another game in the same setting, planes and stuff, would be cool. But continuing the story simply doesn't cut it. It would be cool though to hear stories go about this crazy guy that couldn't die and stuff. heh

I wouldn't really care for a sequel, but I definitely want another game comparable in greatness.
