Does anyone here play this most addictive of all addictive games ever? ;)

Judging by the huge worldwide popularity and amount of players, I think it's safe to assume that *some* people here play the game.

So, come on then WoWers. Server, level and faction?

I myself play on Bloodscalp and have 2 level 60 guys, an Undead rogue and an Undead priest. Alliance is for the weak :) .

Err.. Defias Brotherhood, one level 8 Nightelf Hunter, and a level 9 human mage!

    Yes, I just started :p

Going very very slowly though. Net connection at home is laughable at best, so I often fall victim to the onslaught of say a single kobold, purely because of excessive delay.

Stopped playing so I could work 'full time' :p But I managed to have 16 characters, all over level 30 and each reached sergeant rank at least. None over level 40 though.

8 on Thorium Brotherhood (I think that's what it's called) and 8 on... I forget the name. Ociania PvP Server. Alliance on TB and Horde on the PvP server. 8 characters on each, each a different race/class/gender combination so that I have two of each race with alternating genders and one of each class. Dare say I'm one nasty sonofabitch in Battlegrounds since I know how every class plays and therefore know how to defeat them.

I just started, level 10 paladin. Finally caved to a massive multiplayer game. Pretty cool. Didn't get into it at forst because the world felt too big. Now I've leveled enough to really play and it is incredible.

I am a seriously addicted WoW raider. Got three level 60s one in full epics and a myriad lower level alts. Vashj horde for the win as they say in mmorpg speak.

Got a 60 troll rogue (Dreadmaster) (yes idd, from the "Dreadmaster of Bane" clerics in IWD2) in mixed T1/T2 on Silvermoon EU, have lots of alts, and recently rolled an undead warlock (Dreadcaster lol) on Skullcrusher cos I found out that a few collegues of mine were there...

Very addictive game indeed, I used to play D&D in LAN-format with friends, but WoW beats those games easily in terms of addictiveness...

Curious what the expansion will do to the game...

Scarshield Legion - Alliance Warlock (Human). Level 46 at present. Also have a Level 10 Dwarven Warrior on this server.

Ravenholdt - Horde Rogue (Undead) and Warrior (Tauren) both level 8. Also playing around with an Undead Mage. These are mainly alts for when Scarshield is down and/or I get bored with my 'lock.

Its certainly a fun game, but I can see how I will get tired of it eventually. Mind you, I can't play it at the moment since there are some logon problems for UK NTL customers and it hurts. :(

Earthen Ring: Rutgnomi, level 19 Gnome Rogue. First character, so really useless.
    Ceronicous, level 42 Orc Hunter.
Ravenholdt: Rutgnomi, level 37 Gnomelock, RP character mainly.

Then a buncha characters between 15 and 20.

Until I get broadband I'm staying away from the whole MMORPG thing to save my sanity. So no World of Warcraft for me.

I'm thinking of getting this soon. Oblivion looks good though and from what I've seen from WoW it all looks a bit 'cartoony' so I'm not sure which one to go for. I also don't like the idea of paying to play a game I've already bought. Would you recommend this game over Oblivion?

oblivion is as mindboring and empty as morrowind, so compared to WoW oblivion feels like an empty MMO. WoW on the other hand is great fun, untill you hit the level cap, unless you have time for raiding (this might change with the expansion)

You'll either love WoW or hate it. It's one of those kinds of games. Although, to be fair, I'd say the majority of people love it as apposed to hate it.

    Oblivion is just boring mate.

I don't really even know what this game is, so, no, I have never played it.

I'm tempted, is it worth the subscription and the graphics look really cartoony do they not get on your nerves after a while?

They certainly don't, you'll love them after a while. I guess it's worth the subscription depending on how much time you can put in.

I played it a lot myself, got a 60 paladin and a 55 warrior on the Earthern Ring, but it costs a LOT of time without any progress in the later stages, so I cancelled my subscription.

If you are level 60 and have done all the solo quests you gotta give up either your social life or your study to make any more progress. Thing is, you have to go raiding for the end-game content, and a raid takes at least 4 hours straight, is mostly done at evening/night, and most raid guilds expect you to raid often (I'm talking 1-5 times a week)

So if you want a nice game with a lot of story and charackter developement, give it a go, if you want to see the end content, cancel the rest of your life.

Well I made the plunge and ordered it and the expansion today.. just hope I dont get addicted. One thing I was wondering though, are the 'helper' classes like healers and such tough to play individually and will your sole purpose be to just use your skills to aid other players? If so I'm thinking about making a hunter although which race I'm not sure yet.

In WoW the "support" classes have the ability to modify their characters and gear them so they are capable of dishing out more or less the same damage as the for instance the damage dealing classes. Everything to boost the population of those classes and enable them to do stuff on their own and not only in group. If you are in a group things are different though cause if you are able to heal you more or less always need to heal.

Hunters are a very good class for beginners, not many intricancies and people seem to like the idea of having a cute little animal pet that fights with you. I personally despise hunters. ;)

I'm currently playing my first character, which I decided to take the role of support; healer with max spending in 'holy' skills. Difficult class to play alone, but since I'm not interested of grinding, which plagues WoW too, it doesn't matter.

Add "Mageplay" to your friends-list if you feel like it. Just send me mail so I can do the same. Healer is meant to go with a party instead of smiting random spam one-by-one. ;)
