Has anyone played this game? I'm throroughly addicted! Despite all the flak, I'm really enjoying it.

I have this game and love every almost every aspect of it, aside from the long time it takes to calculate enemy movement. However, the graphics, combat and action are superb.

Also, if you like it so much, there's also a semi-expansion coming out soon called "Hammer and Sickle". It's an actual RPG (think PS:T) set in the Cold War.

    And the site: http://www.nival.com/hs/

I clocked it last night, and started the expansion (Sentinels). I can see the improvements already - such as the option to speed up animations 200%. Wouldn't a Jagged Alliance mod using this engine be nice.

Looks pretty cool, and I've never even heard of it. It'll be nice to have something besides JA 2 and X-Com when I want some good TB strategy. I'll have to look out for it.

The Hammer and Sickle semi-expansion looks really good. I'll be on the lookout for that.

    Great game.

Shame about the last part though. The panzerkleins ruined all the fun imo.

Just finished one of the most difficult missions yet, in Silent Storm Sentinels. Took me half a day, but boy was it worth it (no saves during combat). It was a 'defend the base' mission and I used everything: mines, snipers, grenades, heavy machine guns... the enemy kept coming in waves. Panzerkleins made me tear my hair out, but it just forced me into trying different tactics (I don't use PKs at all). I suppose they could've put tanks in the game instead of PKs, but it doesn't bother me - it adds a new dimension to the game. The AI was brilliant this day. My sniper critically wounded and disarmed one enemy soldier, and left him to bleed, then focused her attention on more pressing threats. The little sh*t had the nerve to creep into one of the bunkers and plant a bomb right next to my heavily fortified machine gunner, all the while remaining hidden! Kaboom, no reload.

If Sentinels is already such a vast improvement over the original game, Hammer & Sickle is going to rock.
