"You know, Syanne, an invisible cleric can be a great asset. Maybe you should stay invisible and set us up during any battles. You could heal us during a fight, put flasks of oil, ready to be thrown, into our hands, and do all sorts of handy other things."

Confronted with stairs leading both upwards and down, Khaira, being chosen to go first, began to descend the stairs toward Jzadirune. During her searching for traps, she noticed the footprints of a human-sized creature. She decided to follow these prints, the prints ended on the second landing. A quick search revealed a hidden door. Khaira carefully opened the door revealing a 20 foot long hallway, the last 10 feet of which was a pit. The pit was about 20 feet deep with the bottom filled with a blackish liquid. After searching the hallway and discussing several ways to reach the other side of the pit, the party decided to continue down the stairs.

Khaira was again the first to descend. She reached the bottom to discover a portal with a veil of darkness covering it. The sounds of children giggling, leaves rustling, and birds chirping could be heard coming from the other side of the darkness. With no other way to go, other than back up, and no traps having been found by Khaira, Thrimmel notched an arrow in his bow and stepped through the portal. Moments later, he motioned for the others to follow. The large chamber on the other side was empty save for ten copper masks attached to the walls, the sounds were coming from them except one which was silent. To the west a hallway exited the chamber and on the south wall there were two doors shaped like giant gears, each had a rune carved into it. When Thrimmel approached the silent mask, a booming voice emanated from it speaking the following: “Welcome to Jzadirune.....behold the wonder. But beware, ye who seek to plunder. Traps abound and guardians peer. Beyond every portal, behind every gear.”

Syanne and Khaira began to investigate the doors on the south. Syanne recognized the runes as being the same gnomish runes on the tool that Thrimmel was holding. Khaira discovered that the door marked with the J rune was trapped with some sort of magical trap. Twice she attempted to disable the trap and set it off both times. The first time the gas weakened her a little, but the second time it knocked her unconscious. At this point, Syanne recommended trying the gnomish tool marked with the runes. Retrieving the tool from Thrimmel, Syanne pushed the J rune on the tool extending the key and upon inserting it into the keyhole, the door rolled to the side. Syanne healed Khaira and they then looked in to see a room which contained 15 small cots and 15 chests.

Syanne entered the room and was barely missed by a dagger, thrown from the western portion of the room. Khaira leaped into the room in time to see a gnome casting a spell after which it disappeared. Thrimmel and Elstarius slipped into the shadows while Aldhem followed Khaira into the room. Syanne cast Burning Hands towards the direction the gnome was in and was rewarded by the smell of singed hair. Khaira began to sing an uplifting tune while scanning the room for any sign of the gnome. Syanne, Aldhem, and Khaira then noticed a secret door open on the far west wall. At this point, Thrimmel and Elstarius entered the room while Sarval remained in the chamber, scanning for suspicious shadows as he held his lantern.

Syanne charged through the secret door, through a short hall, and found herself in a hallway that went north/south. To the south she saw two doors, one on each side of the hall and the hall ended in a large gate. To the north, she saw 5 doors and an open passage. Three of the doors were on the west and two were on the east with the passage also on the east. Opposite where she exited the short hall, there was another door. Noticing that none of the doors were opened, she figured that the gnome headed east in the passage.

As the others pondered what to do, Sarval, having readied the wand of Magic Missiles, fired off the wand at the first sign of shadow entering the chamber. The gnome had circled around to attack the party from behind. The Magic Missile hit the shadow of the gnome, causing no damage to the gnome, but alerting the others to the situation. Khaira was the first to react to the noise and moved back into the chamber in time to take damage from the fireball cast by the gnome. Khaira did manage to jump aside, taking only partial damage, but Sarval took the brunt of the damage.

As the others entered the chamber, Khaira fired off an arrow, hitting the gnome in the head, killing him instantly. Upon searching the body, all they found was a plain brown robe, a pair of boots, and an amulet. A quick detect magic by Sarval revealed the robe and boots to be magical in nature, but the amulet was not.

After the bout with the gnome, the party decided to head down the hall to the west. Syanne opened the door directly across from them utilizing the gnomish tool. Upon entering the room, Syanne noticed shards of glass and a chain hanging from the ceiling. Khaira discovered the chain was an opening mechanism for a secret door in the southwest corner. With the combined efforts of Khaira, Syanne and Sarval, the door was opened.

The room beyond contained three chests. Two were open and empty and the third had a dead body in front of it. Syanne was able to determine the chest had a poisoned needle trap by the needle sticking out of the dead man’s throat. Khaira decided to open the chest from behind to avoid the needles, but as the chest was opened, the needles sprung out from all sides. She was able to dodge the needle, but it found Syanne instead who was standing behind her. Fortunately, it didn’t do very much damage to her. Inside the chest was a plain looking, completely empty bag. They tested the bag for devouring by throwing in a copper piece. Nothing happened until Khaira tried to take out the copper piece. As she did so, she pulled out a small fuzzy ball. She recognizes the bag to be a bag of tricks. To demonstrate the powers, she threw the ball which turned into a small bat as it hit the floor.

Khaira ordered the bat back into the bag and the party decided to explore the tunnel on the other side of the secret room. It opened into another large chamber where Syanne discovered a large creature made out of metal. Sarval turned in the other direction mumbling about their goal as the others enter the room to attack the creature. Thrimmel fired an arrow at the creature, but it didn’t move, so Syanne entered the room. As she did, a dark figure grabbed her and held a dagger to her throat. He told the party to slowly come forward. Sarval, hearing Syanne inform him of the party’s number, came back to the rest of the party and attempted to cast a sleep spell from the wand. When it had no effect on the mystery figure, Sarval entered the room with his bow drawn. Thrimmel, having remained hidden, managed to get behind the figure and began to grapple with him. Though he succeeded in pinning the mystery man, Syanne’s throat was cut in the process. She was still conscious and was able to cast s cure light wounds on herself. Before the party was able to interrogate or kill him, he said “Teleport, Taskerhill Manor,” and disappeared.

The group decided to continue on in through the northern exit following behind Sarval. They come across a stairway leading down and an ornate portal encircled the entrance. The runes read “The Malachite Fortress, Domain of the Great One.” Sarval began to head down the stairs, but the stairs turned into a ramp and he slid the rest of the way into a chamber. He landed at the feet of a stone giant carrying a large club. When the others heard the loud crash, Thrimmel, Syanne and Khaira hid while Elstarius jumped onto the ramp and slides down with her bow ready. She was followed by Aldhem who attempted to shoot at the giant when he reached the bottom, but missed. The giant took a swing and Aldhem was hit very hard, but managed to stay standing. Meanwhile, Sarval and Elstarius were trying to hit the large target in vain. Aldhem took a moment to drink a healing potion while Thrimmel slid down and got behind it dealing some damage. Khaira joined Thrimmel in the flanking position and struck as well. Syanne casts bless as the giant took as swing at Thrimmel. After a few misses, Aldhem gots in a shot as well as Thrimmel, who was simultaneously healed by Syanne. The giant then clobbered Elstarius with a thundering blow, throwing her into the wall. Her limp and dead body fell to the floor. Sarval and Thrimmel both hit again and Syanne casts cure moderate wounds on Sarval. The giant then hit Khaira as Sarval again hits with his trident. Syanne casts cure serious wounds on Khaira as the giant clubbed here again. Sarval then struck the final blow and the giant fell. Syanne checked on Elstarius and confirmed she was dead. Among the posessions of the stone giant, the party found a very large sack and a large great club.

After the bout with the giant, the party noticed a pile of rubble in the northern section of the room partially blocking a small passage heading north. After a quick survey, it was determined that the rubble was too unstable to risk clearing it, so Sarval decided to explore the east passage. It didn’t take him long to discover three sets of alcoves. Upon entering one of the first two, he was beset by an arrow trap and deftly dodged back out of the way. Khaira and Thrimmel could not find the trigger mechanism so they decided to further explore the rubble and passage in the giant’s room. Aldhem started to carefully clear out some of the rubble in an attempt to reach the passage. He was just about to the point where they could enter the passage when Sarval jumped in to help and collapsed the pile onto Aldhem and himself.

Even though the rubble was not too deep, the two were having some trouble getting out of it as though the rubble were trying to keep them trapped. Syanne and Thrimmel tried to free the two, but they only managed to bring down more rubble onto themselves. At this point, Thrimmel noticed that extra rubble was entering the room through a hole high in the wall. Syanne, after freeing herself, examined the rocks that made up the rubble. Being a servant of Kurusu, the God of the Earth, she noticed that these particular stones were native to the Elemental Plane of Earth and that if too many were gathered into one location, they would spontaneously form an Earth Elemental. Meanwhile, Aldhem and Sarval had finally worked their way out of the rubble, Aldhem back into the room and Sarval into the passage.

Again, they tried to clear a way to the passage and Aldhem was almost there when one last collapse added enough material for an Earth Elemental to form. Syanne was able to converse with the creature who seemed relieved to speak with a servant of Kurusu. The elemental indicated to Syanne that they were headed into certain death unless they first returned the gems to Diamasin’s Star. It also indicated that the star would be found at the opposite end of Jzadirune from the Malachite Fortress in the Chamber of the Star. The elemental cleared the path to the passage and then returned to the Elemental Plane of Earth.

After a brief moment to regain their composure, the party decided to head back. With the stairway collapsed into a ramp, Thrimmel moved to climb up the ramp to the top. At the same time, Sarval began to toss up his rope and grapnel while Khaira looked for a way to return the stairs to their original form. Thrimmel reached the top of the ramp without any trouble and Syanne tossed him a rope so the others could climb up. Sarval missed on his first two attempts to secure his grapnel and was getting frustrated. Khaira, meanwhile, found a secret compartment with the lever to return the stairs to normal. She discovered a small snake inside the compartment and kept it at bay with her dagger while she pulled the lever, the stairs returned to their normal form. Sarval, having let his frustration get the better of him, was tossing his grapnel up without any regard. Aldhem laughed at Sarval and his frustration and simply began to climb up the stairs followed by Syanne. In another fit of rage, Sarval reached into the compartment and pulled the lever, turning the stairs back into a ramp. He did not know that there was a small snake in the compartment since Khaira failed to mention it, so when He reached for the lever, the snake bit him on the wrist, paralyzing him right after he pulled the lever. Syanne and Aldhem tumbled back into the room. Syanne used her skill as a healer to relieve Sarval of his paralysis. When he could again move, Sarval killed the snake with a Magic Missile.

Moving south, the party retraced their path back to the room where they were ambushed and opened the door on the south wall. Through it, they could see what looked like a throne room set on three levels. Thrimmel and Khaira began to explore the upper level and Syanne moved to the second level. Khaira and Thrimmel found a throne with what looked like a gnome sleeping in it. When Khaira touched his scepter, the gnome vanished. Syanne, in the meantime, found a statue that when approached spoke and told her to insert her most valuable coin into his mouth in order to see the king. She complied and the image of the gnome returned to the throne. This time the gnome was awake and gave off a warning. "Betrayed we are by our own greed. One by one we are consumed by the demon. Only the gems can save us now." When the image finished speaking, another image appeared, that of a ghoul-like creature. It killed the gnome, consumed the body, then vanished. Syanne moved up to the throne and noticed two secret compartment in the arms of the throne. One held gold pieces, including the one she put into the statues mouth, and the other held platinum pieces.

After taking the coins, the party continued south and entered what looked like an empty museum room with multiple web covered pedestals set about it. Again, Thrimmel and Khaira searched the room for traps while the others kept a lookout for any creatures. Their search revealed nothing so the party made ready to descend the stairs heading east out of the chamber.

The party headed down the stairs and were faced with three hallways. One headed east, another north and the last south. The hall to the east had a large lit chamber. Preferring the light, they headed to toward it. About 20 ft. down was a hallway going north ending in a door. Walking past this short dark hallway, they entered the hallway with several light sources. In the south part of the chamber was a large black globe set into a large pedestal. When checking for traps, Khaira and Thrimmel heard footsteps from around the pedestal. Khaira then noticed a wire connected to the two pillars before the pedestal. Syanne and Aldhem decided to join the other two as Khaira stepped over the wire. As she did so, a gnome appeared near the pedestal and began to cast a large fireball in the party’s direction. Thrimmel and Khaira were able to dodge the blast, but Aldhem and Syanne were not as lucky. Thrimmel charged in and hit the gnome with his axe followed in suit by Aldhem. As the group faced off with the gnome, they heard a cry from Sarval who had remained at the doorway. Aldhem struck the gnome with his axe again, but was still hit with a spell that weakened him severely. Khaira then lunged with her rapier and finished the gnome off.

By this time, Sarval had turned to defend himself from his attacker, but was instead injured with a couple of strikes from a dagger and rapier that the familiar cloaked figure sported. Sarval again tried to attack, as the others rushed to his aid. The figure attacked Sarval with the rapier and Syanne with the dagger simultaneously. Sarval slumped to the floor unconscious and Syanne was also hit. As Aldhem charged, he was hit with a thrust of the rapier, and the dwarf’s attack did minimal damage to his enemy. Syanne quickly got out a flask of oil and soaked figure. Taking the cue from Syanne, Khaira pulled a torch from the wall and tossed it, but missed. The figure then promptly removed his cloak, confirming the party’s suspicions, it was Ronin Taskerhill. Thrimmel and Aldhem both got in shots as Syanne yelled to Khaira to toss more oil on Taskerhill. She complied and Syanne attempted to cast Produce Flame, but instead of hitting Taskerhill, his discarded cloak burst into flame. In the mean time, Taskerhill got two shots on Aldhem and one of Thrimmel. Syanne again attempted to cast the spell, and was rewarded as the oil-drenched Ronin bursts into flames. Khaira then attempted to strike the living torch, but missed as he dropped to the ground and began to roll to put out the flame. With Ronin down, Thrimmel dropped the oily cloak over their foe and Syanne poured more oil on him. The group took turns hitting the enflamed figure until it stopped moving. At that point, they waited and watched until the flames went out.

As Syanne went to heal Sarval, Khaira got impatient with the waiting and slit Ronin’s throat to the dismay of a few of the others. They left the search of the burnt corpse to the morbid thief. Sarval then got up and checked out the gnome’s body, but as he did so was bitten by the spider familiar of the sorcerer. As Syanne rushed over to save the wizard again from a poisoned creature, she was bitten herself. Khaira, not wanting to get close to the creature, fired an arrow to no avail. While she mended her broken bowstring, Thrimmel kicked the spider off Syanne to get a shot with his great axe without hitting her. As the spider attacked Thrimmel, Khaira rummaged through the robes of the prone Sarval for his Ray of Frost wand. While it was on Thrimmel, Khaira attempted to shoot the spider, but missed both it and her companion. Thrimmel attempted to smoosh it, but it dodged the unarmed attack. Then Khaira hit with the wand, and the spider gave up it’s attack on Thrimmel and scampered away. Aldhem chased after it to the doorway, but after missing, discontinued the pursuit. While Thrimmel picked up Aldhem’s chase, Khaira rummaged through Syanne’s things to find an antidote to the poison. When she succeeded in curing the cleric, Syanne again went to the aid of the luckless wizard. When he was able to move again, the spider was no more then a speck on Thrimmel’s great axe.

Upon entering the next room, the party discovered a cage hanging from the ceiling. Inside was the unconscious body of the boy the Striders of Fharlanghn had earlier mentioned. The cage was suspended by a chain that was operated by a winch attached to the south wall. The winch was reached by climbing a wooden platform. Thrimmel climbed up the platform to inspect the winch while Sarval retrieved the items from the gnome sorcerer in the other room. Shortly after, Khaira joined Thrimmel on the platform to elaborate on his findings of a magical trap. She was able to determine that the trap had two effects, the first produced an acid that would eat through the chain and the second was some kind of transportation spell. She made an attempt to disarm the trap, but failed and determined that trying again and failing would result in setting off the trap.

Moving to Plan “B” Syanne cast the spell Fly on herself and flew up to the trap with Khaira in her arms. While suspended in the air with the support of the cleric, she took her time picking the difficult lock. When she had the lock opened, she determined the cage was equiped with a weight sensing device and if any weight were added or subtracted the trap would be set off. Syanne returned her fellow elf to the ground and flew back up to the cage to retrieve the kid. Thrimmel went back up to the winch to try to compensate for the weight difference. Syanne then flew into the cage and grabbed the kid, as she did so, acid dropped onto the chain from a whole in the ceiling and razor sharp spikes emerged from the floor just below the cage. In a matter of seconds, the acid ate through the chain and the cage fell to the ground onto the spikes. Momentarily after, there was a bright flash inside the cage. Luckily for Syanne and the boy, Syanne was quick enough to get out of the cage and could be seen flying around the room holding him.

After the excitement, they placed the stones back in Diamasin’s Star in the following order from the light beam: ruby, emerald, and sapphire. Then after some discussion about what to do next, the party wandered into the remaining rooms to make sure there was no other access for the remaining cult members to sneak up on them. At the first door, Thrimmel got sprayed with acid trying to open the door. Syanne then opened the door with the gnome key. The room was 20 feet by 30 feet and in the center of the room was six wooden trunks. Sarval then called out “Anybody in there.” and was answered with a “No” to the surprise of all the party members. After that, Khaira had a very interesting conversation that went something like this:

“So who’s talking then?” “Nobody.” “And who is ‘Nobody’?” “I am.” “And where are you I Am?” “I’m not in the trunk.” “And which trunk are you not in?” “I’m not in the furthest from the door.” “Is the trunk that you are not in trapped?” “Of course it is, you should leave it alone.” Khaira then opened the chest and looked down to find a gnome trying to hide. “Well, hello I Am.” to which the gnome responded. “Err… I’m not here. Go Away.” After Khaira inquired about the other trunks, the gnome decided to give up his charade. The gnome, Scorch, then gave the party a little information about how the demon worshippers were taking gnomes to feed the demon in the Malachite fortress. He also mentioned that Abbot Olmaren was still alive was, but being held captive.

While the others where chatting with the gnome, Thrimmel found a secret compartment that acted as a closet. After unlocking the next door, they found another 20 by 30 room with four human sized bunk beds. There was nothing else of note in that room.

The final door in the area was opened revealing a 20 by 20 foot storage room with a 10 by 20 foot loft area attached to the rear. When Khaira entered to search for traps and such, she was surprised to find herself under attack from the loft area. Three humanoid creatures were lofting javelins down on all that would enter the storage room. After Aldhem and Syanne entered the room, Thrimmel tried to bluff the humanoids into stopping their bombardment to no avail. But since the odds were quickly turning against the humanoids, they decided to leave the storage room through a secret door in the rear wall.

Not wanting to give up finding out who or what attacked them, the four moved up into the loft area. Sarval entered the storage room and Syanne suggested he stay with child that they had just removed from the cage, just in case. Thrimmel found the secret door and after a brief search of a cabined and trunk, they moved through the secret door. The chamber they entered resembled a communal bath area of sorts. Having several choices as to where the humanoids went, the four headed north. After searching the halls to the north, they focused their attention on a door at the end of a short hall. This door was the second one they found, the first opened up into a fungus garden that none wanted to explore.

Syanne used the multi key tool to open the door and found herself the target of three javelins, Two of the javelins found their target and Syanne quickly backed off. Khaira jumped into the room, bow in hand, and began firing at anything that moved. Unfortunately, there were five more of the humanoids ready to hurl javelins. Luckily, they all missed her as she danced into the room firing her bow. She was able to quickly ascertain the situation. Eight bugbears were in the room, seven were clad in light armor and were picking up morning stars, while the largest was clad in heavy armor and was wielding a bastard sword.

During the next few rounds, Syanne healed herself while Thrimmel moved into the room hidden. Khaira was the focus of the bugbears, being the only target they had and Aldhem took up position just outside the door waiting for a bugbear to exit. Khaira decided on an expeditious retreat from the room while Syanne cast a Knife Spray at the bugbears, wounding them all a little. As Khaira exited the room, the bugbears followed and Aldhem attacked those in the doorway with his great axe. Thrimmel had moved into position behind the leader. His attacks on the leader missed and he began a series of defensive maneuvers. Meanwhile the others pressed their attacks on the other bugbears. As the battle continued, the bugbears began to drop one by one until their was only the leader left. During the battle, many attacks were made on this large humanoid, but with his heavy armor and shield, he proved to be a very tough target. With the leader alone, he was squared off with Thrimmel. The leader with his heavy armor and Thrimmel with his defensive posturing was causing the battle to take on a sort of stand-off where no-one was being hit. Eventually, the party began to score hits on the large bugbear and shortly it surrendered calling out, "Torg no want die. If me surrender, you let me live?”

Terms of surrender were reached and the party has a useful captive in the bugbear leader as he knew much of what lay ahead.

Each party member received 1200 experience points.

The party decided to trust Torg and they went back to the room with Sarval and the kid. When the party was preparing for rest, Terrem, the mystery kid, woke up. Syanne was quick to make the kid trust her and he was content with following her orders. Soon after this conversation, Syanne noticed Scorch was missing. When he heard the name, Torg informed her with distaste, that Scorch was an evil little gnome that was momentarily the toady of the cult leader. He also told her that it would take about a day to get to Rugan to report back, because Gargash and the other Ogres liked to beat him, and wouldn’t go that way.

After breakfast, they gave Torg his weapons back and he lead them to a platform and winch system. It brought them down to the room next to Gargash’s. Torg suggests going in alone and trying to get them to leave the room, meanwhile the others hid around the door. After Sarval cast invisibility on the kid, Torg entered the room and told Gargash and his brothers that Scorch had snuck by them and had said they “were just big dumb twerps that were afraid of everything.” Immediately, the ogres ran off through a stone door in the south. Torg then lead them to a secret door and informed them that they were in front of the cavern where the ghoul was. After casting the necessary spells, the party entered a large chamber over 100 feet across with a large pit taking up half of it. A bridge spanned the pit and lead to a door on the opposite cavern wall. To the west, a large glowing silver-yellow sphere encased the very large demon. A group of fifteen humans was guarding the bridge and by the demon’s sphere was another human, Rugan the cult leader.

Torg preformed a bulrush toward the fifteen with a blood-curdling war cry. He was successful in knocking them backwards 10 feet, one fell into the chasm, and five were knocked down. Aldhem followed Torg’s example and charged toward Rugan and hit. Thrimmel made his way to Rugan as well, and flanked him dealing sneak attack bonus. Six of the guards made their way to Torg and attacked, but missed while another three attacked Aldhem. While Syanne cast prayer, Rugan pulled out his wand and attacked Aldhem causing painful wounds to appear all over his body. Sarval then cast flaming sphere over the five prone bodies doing a little damage. Torg sliced one of his attackers down to size and hit another using cleave. Meanwhile, Aldhem killed Rugan with one last hit. Quickly following the cult leaders death, his body guards were cut down in turn by the group. Meanwhile, Syanne had pulled out The Scroll of Banishment and following the invocation, there was a brilliant flash of light and the demon was returned to the Abyss.

After the banishment of the demon, Khaira, Thrimmel, Sarval and Torg decided to go on a side quest to retrieve the gems in Diamasin’s star. Their first obstacle was to get around the four angry ogres. The plan was to split up, Thrimmel and Khaira sneaking in from the back way, while Torg brought Sarval in the front, making him look like a prisoner. The idea was for Torg to suggest a game of beating up on the magic user, having the ogres stand in line to wait their turn. When in the desired format, Sarval was going to cast Lightening and strike them all down. Unfortunately, Gargash and his brothers were still ticked about Torg lying to them about Scorch. Realizing the jig was up, Sarval cast Lightening. All of the ogres got the full brunt of the attack. On the rebound Gargash and one of his brothers were able to dive to the side, as were Torg and Sarval. Gargash’s brothers were not able to survive the attack and it’s rebound, and Gargash was left to face his foes alone. Torg then charged with his bastard sword and as he missed, Gargash hit the bugbear with his huge great axe but didn‘t do much damage. Khaira and Thrimmel made their way in, Thrimmel making one hit, while Sarval inched away from battle casting Magic Missile. While the battle ensued, Scorch, who had been following the party all along, made himself known by attacking Sarval from behind. Torg ignores Gargash and runs to get a shot at Scorch while Sarval is attacking him with a wand. Meanwhile, Gargash knocked Khaira’s lights out and moved to attack Scorch himself. Thrimmel makes an attempt to distract Gargash with Scorch’s presence in order to allow Sarval to bring a potion of cure moderate wounds to Khaira. It worked and Gargash rushed in the direction of the gnome and bugbear duking it out. He attacked Torg, then landed a fatal blow on Scorch. Sarval then turned and hit the ogre with his wand and the ogre fell. Thrimmel then ran up to the body and preformed a coup de grace.

After a few potions, the small group was able to move on with their quest for the gems. When they reached the star, they noticed it was no longer emitting the beam of silver light. After lighting a torch, they could see that the star had exploded. Khaira searched the remaining burned hole and found shards of the ruby. She discovered the star had an earlier gnomish visitor who was unable to lift the gem out of the star without setting off the trap. After poking around a little more, she discovered the other two remained undamaged. Singing to herself, she was able to lift the sapphire out with precision, but wasn’t so lucky with the emerald. Unhurt, she gathered a few of the emerald pieces and a few of the ruby pieces to prove to their potential buyer that the other two gems did in fact shatter. They then returned to the rest of the party and the kid.

Each party member receives 1100 experience points.

It was decided that returning the child to the orphanage was the next most important task that they needed to accomplish. Their search for the abbot would have to wait. From speaking to Torg, it was learned that Abbot Olmaren was most likely dead anyways, so they proceeded to the surface. Upon returingin to the inn, Syanne moved over to the table where Meerthorn was waiting. He tossed her a small sack, gave her his thanks and the two came to an agreement as to the welfare of the child. The sack contained a figurine of a bear made out of mithral. The party gathered around one of the tables at the inn to discuss their next move.

Having taken care of business, the party decided it was time to cash in the goods they had found. They started at Gurnezarn’s Smithy then wandered to Zanathor’s Provisions. Having accumulated enough funds at that time, they went to Skie’s Treasures and bought a wand of Identification and figured out what the rest of their items were. The rest of the evening was spent splitting up the loot.

"Let's head to Gurnezarn’s Smithy to sell off the rest of these things. The sooner we do this the sooner we can deal with the Manor and the matter of the abbot."

Syanne than proceeded to the smithy in the hopes that it was still open for business for the evening.

Phalian Gurnezarn looked up at the group. "Weren't you just in here a few hours ago. I guess you like my shop alot or you have something else you wish to do. Ah, I'm guessing you want to sell me those additional items. Well, Let me look them over."

Phalian scribbles something onto a piece of paper and slides it over to the elven cleric. "Here is my offer. I prefer not to mention these amounts out loud."

After looking over the offer, Syanne showed it to Khaira, to get her expertise on the worth of our items.

ooc: Khaira, check your email please, if you haven't done so already.

Phalian looks over at Khaira. "Alright, you aren't the run of the mill dopes who usually come in here to sell of their grandfathers old weapons. You must have had some training in the value of these things. Here is my best offer for the items." Phalian scribbles one more time on the piece of paper and slides it back to Khaira.

"You're correct, I have had training in this sort of area. Your offer is an acceptable one, and we will gladly agree to it."

Khaira shows the note to Syanne with the final figure of 4750pp.

Phalian smiles in agreement saying, "Good, now that the matter is settled, Is there anything else that I can do for you or your companions? While you are thinking about that, I will go and get the agreed to coinage." Phalian leaves for a few minutes and returns with 10 small sacks all tied together. "In each one of these sacks you will find 500 coins except the last which contains 250. Let me know if you are ever in need of any finely crafted weapons. It has ben a pleasure doing business with you."
