Having 19 CHA or more gives you even better discounts at the stores, so having 18 CHA, then casting "Friends" gives better results than having 6 CHA and casting "friends", ditto for the cloaks.

As for having too much money, I don't ever getting that way until near the end of BG1, and I try not to use expensive consumables except for the toughest of fights.

I do like to buy up all the best missiles, wands, potions and other charged magic items right before the fight to save the dukes and subsequent final dungeon and final fight, but it seems I either need to choose or I need to steal at times.

I always keep the 'save rolldata to a text file' option unchecked, so i have no idea how many rolls it performed to get this score.
And the program did not stop after rolling the 106 - it just clicks the 'store' button in-game, and continues rolling. it's just that a better result never came up before i stopped the script.

As for the inkeeper of the FAA, he is a gnome, but i don't think it's mentioned anywhere in-game what class he is (though he does wear mage robes.)
The only involvement with a ring on that map i can think of is the woman that had her flamedance ring stolen by the hobgoblins, and the ring of wizardry that's hidden in a hollow rock just east of where you first enter the map. AFAIK though, it's never mentioned that this ring belonged to anyone..

On the cloak - i do always steal it as soon as i get to beregost, but as soon as i can access baldur's gate it's going to be replaced by the cloak of balduran.
I did decide to redistribute those 106 points using EEkeeper - i started of with 18 in all scores except for wisdom which i left at 16.
after grabbing all the tomes available in BG1, i should be 19 across the board, since there's 3 tomes of wisdom available.

It´s mentioned in the "Sword Coast Survival Guide", p. 21, one of the 3 pdf files that comes with the BG EE.

In the same guide Elminster mentions the ring the T/I innkeeper had lost and that if found should not be mentioned...

Ahh, i see. probably their way of hinting to the item being hidden on the map. I'm pretty sure this is never mentioned in the game itsself, and i've never read the survival guide pdf, so that's why i did not know.
Still a nice little tidbit of lore though. :D

It wasn't as far as I remember in any of the ORIGINAL game documentation either and the ring of wizardry is never mentioned or hinted at in-game.
