It is 2AM EDT so I come up with weird ideas.

It struck me. All those red blooded Bhaalspawn wandering around must have left children behind. These children would be Bhaal's grandchildren. Wouldn't they have some of his essence in them?

Now what could they be doing?

    Goodnight all.

:aaa: How can you just spring such a disturbing scenario on us and then go to sleep? As if it wasn't hard enough to hunt down all those damn Bhaalspawn, now we gotta hunt down their children, too? The trials of being the God of Murder. :shake:

Not just grandchildren; what about the great-neices, the second cousins 3 times removed?

"Fear me, for I am the nephew of Bhaal!"

It now being the more civilized hour of 11AM EDT I have realized the implications of my post.

Help, they are coming for us. They will gather and take over the world! Maybe we will get lucky and they will go back to killing each other off.

I'm sure the chinchilla descendants are stuck on a fur farm somewhere.

Further, what if you do the Aerie romance, and you have a child together? Do you have to kill your own child to truly become a god?

I hate you Alavin even more than Nakia! :flaming: ;)

edit: Maybe only the children of the one who has all essence (Bhaal, you, etc.) have essence too.

Well, you killed MUCH of Bhaalspawns not all and got (or gave up) your Bhaal essence at the end because for example you have not killed ones in the Saradush; one who babbling at you beside the mage's store and one who teleport when he feels fear.

So....conclusion....even though Sola said there's no more of Bhaal, I guess there're still Bhaalspawns around the Faerun who doesn't bother to come outside. So....real conclusion...you don't need to track down anyone related with Bhaal.

    dang...I don't even understand what I wrote...need somebody to understand :(

    @Ruin:
    I'll see if I can translate. :D

By the end of BG2, you've killed MOST of the Bhaalspawns, but not all of them. For example, the one who babbles at you near the mage's store and the one who teleports away from you when he gets scared. So even though Soulafein said there aren't any more Bhaalspawn out there, there must still be at least two of them out there. Therefore, the whole needing to track down all Bhaalspawn is BS.

Is that about right? :hmm: And did you consider the possibility that just because the PC didn't kill them doesn't mean they aren't dead by someone else's hand?

just about right but Sola means Sola, yeah the one tests you in the pocket plane.

Babbling man might have gotten killed because there was no sign of living person in the Saradush when you com back.
But teleported man might have been fine because he escaped.

And onother thing, there were numerous Bhaalspawns out in the Faerun not only PC and ones in Saradush and the Five (except Melissan), and nobody's said that the Five killed all the other Bhaalspawns, so there might still be Bhaalspawns with little bit of essense of Bhaal.

Conclusion...there might be not only children of dead Bhaalspawns but also original Bhaalspawns so you don't need to kill your children.

btw, thanks typing cat Felinoid. I got mixed up and after your translation I got my brain back into work.

EDIT : Ruin keeps looking....Oooooooooooh, shiny one!

Oh, the Solar. I tend to believe heavenly beings won't lie, but that's just me. :D I can see the point you're trying to make is that they might not all be dead, so in that case you wouldn't necessarily have to kill them all.

But what I'm trying to say is that we probably should believe the people who made all this up in the first place, so all the Bhaalspawns save one do have to be killed to allow the survivor to ascend. Extrapolating from that assumption, all of the Bhaalspawns must be dead by the end of ToB, whether by your hand or from some other cause.

The question then becomes: Do children of Bhaalspawn contain enough of Bhaal's essence to qualify as Bhaalspawn in their own right?

My answer: No. Bhaal had to deliberately impart some of his essence to his children, did he not? Kind Bhaalspawn would not do that in order to save their children from the trials they went through, and ambitious Bhaalspawn would not do it as it would weaken their power. So no new Bhaalspawn would be ... umm ... spawned, unless one was cowardly and selfish enough to give up all of their taint to their children, resulting in no net change in the number of Bhaalspawn anyway.

(Now I'm sick of the word spawn. Thanks a lot, Nakia. ;) )

Well I never got that all about Imoen. Shouldn't she die before all the essence is in Throne?

If she makes it all the way to the Throne, the solar asks her if she still wants her essence. She can give it up freely.

What I don't like about TOB is that they assume that you're a bhaalspawn lover. Hey, if I were an evil Bhaalspawn i wouldn't wait until someone else killed all the bhaalspawns! Not only the five want to be gods\ demi gods! I would've killed them myself! It's annoying that you can't kill the children of bhaal in saradush without losing reputation. everybody in the city hates them anyway! they brought the siege! what would they care if you kill them?! The most annoying thing is that even if you don't give a damn about reputation, if you kill the bhaalspawn in the tavern then everybody turns hostile! it's so freaking annoying! They should thank you for every bhaalspawn you kill, not turn on you... If I were the programmers, i would've added to every bhaalspawn dialouge the option "You're a Bhaalspawn? I will not suffer competition. Prepare to die!" or something similar...

Imoen did give out her share willingly, did she not? Maybe the kiddies somehow lost it automatically during the "ascension" process? As to the stragglers, maybe their share was just so small that the protagonist could as well pick them off later or suck it out somehow? :p

After all, Melissan was supposed to be a demi-god even before she met the protagonist. Maybe "godhood" is incremental? :shake:

But yea; puts the story into a bit dubious light. Faults of it being an 'expansion' instead of a 'full-game.'
