    The government makes payments if the weather is below a certain temperature for seven consecutive days for the elderly and disabled over winter.

    That's nice of them.

    Except if say, every sixth day the region you are allocated goes up to or a degree over the border the government has set.

    Also the payment is a tenner which pays for roughly five or six days heating in a 10' by 10' room with adjoined bathroom and small kitchen area.

    Heavens forbid I have a house ;)

    One of the least efficient household appliances is also the humble kettle, which if you are in the vicinity of england, is mostly abused during the winter months for warmth. Factor in when it's colder it's usually less sun in the sky adds light bills.

    Also add the fact the government sends out these checks and you have to have them paid at specific post offices...

    ... now factor in that hampshire council is not the most successful local council.

    I should get it by January I think.
