Hey, Elfshadow is a good book! And the sequels are even better... elfsong truly fleshes Danilo out...

I finally got myself a copy of the Hoobbit... now I am going thorough it with a thick comb to get all the Thranduil bits. *swoons*

Finished "Clash of Kings" second book of the song of ice and fire by G. Martin. Brilliantly written, great story, great characters, the perfect example of a great book. Better than LOTR in my honest opinion.

Moving on to "A storm of swords" next book in the series.

    Thumbs up :thumb:

David McCullough's biography, _John Adams_. Superb book, it is almost enough inspiration to make me want to go to law school, almost. :shake:

    @ Chandos - Don't do it :hmm:

To be a lawyer actually requires a commitment to the profession that most people simply don't have. I know too many classmates who aren't practicing now because law was a waystation, whether they knew it or not. On the other hand, if you really are interested, PM me and I'll tell you about the highs and lows. You can then make your own decision.

Back on topic - I am reading Dragon Society by Lawrence Watt-Evans. Interesting premise, uneven prose.

I am reading Great Expectations by Dickens. That dude writes quite intriguing stories but there is no flow in his novels, rarely am I able to read more than one chapter at a time.

@ joacqin - IIRC, Dickens wrote that book as a serial novel and published one chapter at a time. Thus, lack of flow.

I know, but all his novels I have read have the same lacking and I quite sure that not every one of them were written in parts for magazines.

At the moment I am reading one of the greatest book I have ever read... The Hollow Chocolate Bunny Rabbits of the Apocolypse by Robert Rankin...

In my view this guy is the most comical author along with Terry Pratchett, and thats saying something :D .

Got "Heavy Metal: THe Music and its Culture" by Deena Weinstein the other day. It is a pretty interesting sociological and rhetorical look at the massive genre of HM.

rying to decide between JG Ballard's "The Kindness Of Women" - the sequel to Empire Of The Sun - and Elmore Leonard's "Pronto" - I thought about trying Leonard because I liked the four movies i've seen of his books so far and I know the books are usually better than the films...
