Earlier this week, SP lost a brother, a family member... one of the pillars of this community fell, and his absence leaves a void that never will be filled. I've expressed myself in the FAI, and I stand behind every word I said -- I respected the hell out of Kit, and he was someone here I was proud to call a friend. Brother, I hope that wherever you are, you found the peace that eluded you in life.

When I read the shocking, unexpected news, I saw mention of the FAI, and made a very, very, very occasional cameo appearance. Immediately, I was welcomed like a brother, a family member that had been away for quite a while. Considering the... extremist nature of some of the stuff I posted, and let's not forget the blog entries which save for a couple of exceptions were pretty much an undercover jab at a lot of people here... I was a little surprised, taken aback to be welcomed back with open arms.

However... being warmly welcomed back in the FAI, as well as the solidarity shown in face of this tragedy -- supporting each other despite for the most part having never met -- has let me to do a lot of thinking. The fruits of this reflection? This week's earlier tragedy has made me realize just how deep the family spirit runs in here... and despite being a dysfunctional bunch (I mean that in a good way), THIS is the reason why I sticked around since '05, the reason why even when I thought about calling it quits and leaving the place behind, I stayed.

I am lifting my self-imposed posting retirement, and once again stoned propaganda will grace this place. I was surprised at being welcomed with open arms... but further reflection has shown me I shouldn't have been... for the better and the worst, if there's one thing that is guaranteed, it's the extended family will be there, no matter what.

Kit, my friend, my brother, rest well.
