There's an interesting little spell that can't be reached in the normal game called Rapture of the Father. I noticed it just before the dream-sequence in Spellhold (the dream where you have to kill Bhaal 'in Imoen's sight')...it's the spell that Irenicus uses on the Shadow Thief-looking guys in the tubes. So I whipped out the good ol' Shadow Keeper editor (whoever it was that wrote that should be immortalised in song by Haer'Dalis) and hacked in 'Rapture of the Father.' It had no description, but in practice it affected one target, had ZERO casting time (like Magic Missile), and instakilled. It was a lot like Finger of Death. I don't remember if the enemy got a saving throw, but I know that magic resist applied.
Anybody else ever notice Rapture of the Father? Are there any other coo' li'l' spells that can only be hacked in?

Yeah, I've noticed it before. Some more spells that could be hacked in includes Phantamasal Killer, a level 6 (I think) spell that attacks, seemly do nothing for a short while, then the enemy dies. Quite cool, imagine this:

    Githyanki: Grrrr!
    Mage: Casts Phantamasal Killer
Githyanki: Grr! *advances and attacks the Mage*
    Everyone Else: Run!
    Mage: ...
    Gith: Grr...*dies*

There's quite a bit of Psionic Spells out there too. I think some of the crashes the game.

    Bear with me... ;)
(All of these will work-do not worry about crashing the computer)

About the first three, I'm not sure which is which so the effects might be mixed up. The first three are used by Irenicus.

Flashy Death 1-- Beholder lightning petrifies, shatters and plays healing effect on target
Flashy Death 2-- Umberhulk confusion effect flies to target, causing them to explode and playing dispel effect
Flashy Death 3-- No projectile, target is consumed in flames and disintegrated
Flashy Death Yeah- Ooze blob disintegrates target

-Daer'Ragh's Aura Cleansing- cast new spell immediately after casting lasts several rounds
-Daer'Ragh's Physical Agility- I think it's +1 attack per round
-Daer'Ragh's Mental Agility- decreases spell casting time

-Selune's Curse- Blue fireball ( only blue if your graphicd are set lower. If you set them to the highest, it will be the red explosion.)
-Selune's Blade- creates moonblade in hand
-Selune's Blessing- some sort of globe of invulnerability

Viekang Lightning- thething that happens to poor old Viekang in Trademeet, shocks with lightning, unconsiousness and unsummons any creature!! they will simply be removed.

There are the abilities that figurine creatures have such as Moon Dog Howl or Web Tangle

All the Beholder spells...(beholder lightning is useful for those who have trouble targeting lightning bolts)

Power Word Kill ignore resistance (Irenicus uses it in the first cutscene- causes target to explode sending guts and gore flying)

    Psionic Blast no save

Thethtoril's Diety Kill is there but I haven't tested it, and it might not work or might crash the game

Phantasmal Killer- as mentioned above but not said was that you see blood spurting from the target until he finally dies several seconds later

Psionic Emotion Kill- green orb(Disintegrate) flys toward target and places a hold effect over their head, and they will die in several seconds

These are kind of boring but Disintegrate and Finger of Death have versions that ignore resistance and will work on almost everything.

Flesh to Stone also has one that ignores resistance and one that has no 3d effect but the target will freeze in place, petrified.

There are plenty more but be careful about some that seem suspicious (like if they have no name or description)

Note: many of these when memorized are found in the special abilities button.

Note: When memorized, many of these are special abilities that appear in the cast spell button. Therefore if you are a fighter or thief, you might not be able to use them. Also, a mage cannot choose to memorize them several times so make sure that you set the spell to be memorized however many times that you want.

    have Fun!!! :D

Oh my, that was all from memory. I think I've played too much... :D :D :D

I recall a spell that explodes the caster (yes the caster) into a fireball. Also don't bother trying Kamikaze, it kills you instantly. That's the spell your Apprentice cast to kill themselves if they fail a project.

i do remember that there is a spell called " infernal host". I thbnk that summons some of those huge snake women, yuzunomei looking things.

There is another one that only irenicus can use, and it does instant death, called something like 'dark plague'.

    Spoiler from ToB...........

Yeah, those Cowled Wizards always seem to use some kind of Tattoo of Power spell when I fight them. Seems like a combo between physical defense (like stoneskin) and magical defense (globe of invulnerability?).

    Magic Tattoo:

Take a regular mirror image, call it "Magic Tattoo: Mirror Image" and create a script that casts it on a certain condition. It works exactly like a contingency, but it is a script, not the mage spell. Another example is Dragon Stoneskin. You can give yourself both Magic Tattoo:Mirror Image and Dragon Stoneskin but they will be identical to the normal versions. It is the dragon's script that casts the spell, just as it is the Cowled Wizard's script that casts MT:MI, the creature doesn't have it memorized.

Therefore, yes you can get it but it won't be worth it merely for a different name for a spell.

However, I do not have a script editor or viewer, so this is merely my belief of how it works. If I am wrong, please correct me.

Also, if anyone knows where to get a good script maker, please tell me. I know that there are some on SP but I want a recommendation by someone who has used one.

IIRC the duration on that one is too short for my liking, the Ulithid psionic blast lasts alot longer
