DOTW: My old card was an ATI, and the new one is an Nvidia. Also, the tech did have to clean the contacts. I'm actually rather clumsy, and could probably screw it up badly. And considering that I can't afford to buy another computer...

Thats funny Gnarf - I just switched from Nvidia to an ATI. My new card is way better than the old one with its tiny little baby fan on its pathetic little thin videocard body. Damn thing lasted me just under two years which is just money down the drain.

I swear the level of noise pollution in the world has gone down since I ripped out my housemate's old FX5200 from it's case. Man, I swear this card was in league with washing machines when it came to noise. The pathetic little cooler with a fan straight on the chip was one of the worst designs ever. NVIDIA should get a kick in the arse for manufacturing, let alone SELLING that horror. The new X1650, OTOH, has a small fan, but a much bigger dissipator, and it runs ridiculously quiet.

And Gnarff, switching from ATi to Nvidia... have you lost your mind? :skeptic: :bang:

How do you hand out .pdf files? :p

Well...I overheard some high-up management figures talking about the position I applied for. The number of applicants is now at 8. To make things worse, the style of interview is a "group interview" that includes the maintenance supervisor, along with any and/or all of the maintenance techs. I do better with a one-on-one type of interview...not speaking before a jury... :bad: :rolling:

Just found my old Super Star Wars cartridge for the SNES - damn that game was, no - is hard! But fun nonetheless, if you grew up in the 90s - where Sega does what nintendon't and blast processing (whatever the hell that meant ) - You probably know what I'm talking about.

But I was a SENS guy, good old side scrolling shooter - we didn't need pruddy three-dee graphics.

Ok, I'm not that old (I'm 19 years old), I just felt nostalgic playing that old SNES :p

I don't hate my neighbour, but she's got a powerful sub-woofer and strange sleeping habits. Not a good combination.

A friend of mine had Super Star Wars, I've tried looking for it everywhere, but the second hand gaming shops only have Marios and Donkey Kongs for SNES. Guess I should just download a SNES emulator or something.
BTW, FYI IMHO SNES sidescrollers still FTW.

Yay! It's Sunday morning and I've just got home from work...that means it's finally *my* weekend!

Hmmm...kind of sounds like me an my brother growing up. He had two 15" subwoffers in his room, and I had the odd sleeping habits...needless to say, we fought a lot. :bad: :rolling:

Yeah sure, but playing it in the real way is still better to me. Also I think that part of these old game's charm aren't the games inherent goodness - rather I think it's more the nostalgia. A game you enjoyed in your youth will be more enjoyable me thinks.
Oh and by ye gods! That's an abuse of acronyms - it's barely readable

If I'm not mistaking - By the way, for your information [and?] in my humble opinion SNES sidescrollers [are] still for the win -

Ask my professor. :) No, seriously, she uploads it to the faculty LAN, and then you are supposed to download it and print it.
Since I never print mine, I end up reading .pdf hand outs.

Correct and I just tried to stack as many acronyms as I could in there. :p

An old friend came here for a couple of hours, still as nerdy and funny as ever, it seems some people never change.

Had a nice, quiet evening with my brother, housemate and friend. Plugged the four-way adapter for my PS2 and played SD vs Raw 2k8 - MiTB, Royal Rumble, mixed tag.

Had some booze and a few green cigars, basically had a good time.

My friend discovered a 2x4 foot hole in the roof of my house.. right over my bed. This is very problematic, since we do not have the money to re-roof the house.
    Argh.
