I am trying to figure out which type of party I would like to take with me. Either a good party, or neutral party. So could you give me some suggestions for an all good aligned party, and a neutral party? (I count neutral evil & good as being neutral)

    Thanks in advance!

    My good party:

    Myself, NG Fighter/Mage
    Keldorn
    Anomen
    Minsc
    Imoen
Jaheira, as a recognized Jaheira expert, I'm firmly of the opinion that she's NG, instead of Bioware's official "TN".

    A Neutral party?

That's hard. Not that many neutral NPCs to begin with.

    All good party... Well.

    PC
    Minsc
    Keldorn
    Nalia
    Aerie
    Imoen

No matter what class your PC is this party will do good. No pure cleric, but Aerie is good enough. Your PC, Keldorn and Minsc will get some minor cure spells if need be. Some people might think 3 wizards are to much, but I like it :)

Alignment based parties aren't just good, neutral and evil. There is also law and chaos to consider. Your party's alignment should be your characters alignment. A Lawful Good PC should take characters that are Lawful Neutral, Lawful Good and Neutral Good whereas a True-Neutral PC should take party members that are Neutral Good, Lawful Neutral, True-Neutral, Chaotic Neutral and Neutral Evil. To put it simply the party can't possess any extreme opposites from the party alignment.

Bah, law vs. chaos is never as important as good vs. evil. Besides, with the limited number of NPCs available, this just isn't practical (even BG1 makes it well nigh impossible).

My main good party: neutral good male halfling swashbuckler, Keldorn, Valygar, Anomen, Aerie, and Nalia.

My other good party: neutral good female human priestess//rogue, Minsc, Mazzy, Anomen, Yoshimoen, and Nalia.

My neutral party: true neutral male elven fighter, Jaheira, Cernd, Haerry, Yoshimo (I plan on "redeeming" him by replacing him with an exact duplicate via multiplayer for the second half of the game), and Jan.

My evil party: neutral evil male hlaf-elven bard, Korgan, Viconia, Edwin, Yoshimoen, and Koveras, my own version of you-know-who from BG1, at least until I finish SoA.... :D

Law and chaos are just as important as good and evil, however BG doesn't address that. Notice though how Nalia and Keldorn don't get along too well? Sure Keldorn gets along well with Minsc but I think Minsc is more Neutral-Good than Chaotic-Good (he respects the law as far as I can see - he mentions distate with working with the thieves guild).

    My good party
    CG Human Beserker[8]/Cleric
    Jaheira
    Minsc
    Jan
    Keldron
    Imoen

IF Im a thief type then Anomen replaces Jan

    Evil party contains Viccy,Korgan,Edwin,Jan,Imoen
This party would limit you to tank types however.

Neutral :Jaheira,Korgan,Minsc,Edwin, Jan or Anomen, depending on who you are.

Beren why do you think Jahiera's NG? This might have been talked about before but I didn't see it. My logic is that since she is a Harper and a Druid but she has a lawful view on everything she would be LN, because she beleives in the balance but does not hold it above what is right and lawful.

And Beren you left out "bossy" "grouchy" and "boring" when you mentioned her.

    @casey
Ignore all of her rantings about perserving balance and so forth. See how she racts to situation. She 'hates' slavers and always favours the good way of doing things. Never does she complain that one of your actions are too good (untill maybe your reputation reaches 18+). Not to mention Khalid was neutral good, to marry someone your alignment would have to be pretty similar if not the same.

[ Thanks for the support in any event. ;) ]

The reason I didn't respond to casey's post concerning Jaheira is that as a moderator, I have to hold myself to a stricter standard than almost everybody else.

Let's not allow Jaheira's alignment, or opinions as to what other qualities she might possess, take over this discussion.

    Here's my usual good party:

    Invoker
    Minsc
    Valygar
    Jaheira
    Aerie
    Nalia/Imoen

Neutral is a bit tougher, half the time it ends up looking similar to a good party:

    Sorcerer
    Minsc
    Jaheira
    Viccy
    Valygar OR Haer'Dalis
    Nalia/Imoen

That's actually a better party than the one I usually take. For a real goodie party:

    Cavalier
    Keldorn
Anomen (Make sure he passes his test)
    Aerie
    Imoen
    Minsc

    Good Aligned NPC's:-

    Keldorn
    Mazzy
    Valygar
    Minsc
    Imoen
    Aerie
    Nalia

    Neutral Aligned NPC's:-

    Jan
    Yoshimo
    Haer'Dalis
    Jaheira
    Cernd
    Anomen

    Evil Aligned NPC's:-

    Edwin
    Korgan
    Viconia

My recommended Good Aligned Party:- Keldorn, Minsc, Imoen, Aerie, Mazzy + PC of your choice.

My recommended Neutral Aligned Party:- Jan, Haer'Dalis, Jaheira, Anomen, Cernd + PC Tank. I actually think that would be quite interesting playing with all that Cleric power. I'll have to have a go at that one day.

My recommended Evil Party:- Edwin, Korgan, Viconia + PC Thief type.
