Well, half of the first page of replies is me *****ing about Iron Man 3, so no need to rehash that again.

I don't see me having anytime to get to the movies in the next few weeks - we're preparing to move - but given pretty much everyone who has seen the latest Star Trek has liked it, I'm going to have to get it eventually. It just may turn out to be a rental rather than a see it in the theater due to time constraints.

As for the Fast and Furious series I'll say this: The only reason I've seen any of them is that my wife really like Vin Diesel. So I've seen all of them which he has been in, which is 4 out of the 6 if memory serves me correctly. (I think, more specifically, that it was the 2nd and 3rd editions that he missed.)

All I can say about 6 is this: You pretty much know what you're getting going in, but compared to some of the other installments of the franchise, I found it uncraptastic. I was actually quite entertained throughout much of the movie. I also really like the Rock, and besides Vin, he is the main character in the movie.

Now you have to accept going in that the movie is car chase scene after car chase scene. But there is actually something resembling a story line and a plot in the movie, which was notably absent in some of the prior versions, and the car scenes are nothing short of fantastic. The scene from the trailer with the airplane is really entertaining, but you have to believe that the runway in question is about 20 miles long given the amount of time and distance they are driving on it.

So I would have to say that 6 is probably the best of the series. (And I understand that depending on how you feel about the series, you may think that's not a particularly high bar to clear.) Anyway, I hear they are already working on the next one, so the total is a minimum of 7.

Just wanted to mention I saw Worldwar Z and it was better than I expected.

I wasn't planning on seeing it at all but went with someone else who did want to see it and left the theater pleased with the film.

I read some very disappointing reviews. I read and really enjoyed the book so turning it into a generic actionflick doesn't really sit well with me. Low priority.

Watched Man of Steel and it again confirmed my opinion that Superman as a character doesn't work. You can't build a really entertaining story around him. He is too strong, too powerful, too much of everything. Even if he faces an opponent of equal power. Never any real suspense except for the kryptonite parts and those are getting real old. Very well done movie, doubt they could do it much better but it is still about Superman.

    Sorry for the delayed response.

If you liked one you may like the other so see both if you have the time and money.

To me neither is likely to be the best movie of the year but they both were entertaining.

Looking forward to The Wolverine. I doubt it'll get any Academy Awards for anything like acting or writing, but it'll be good, mindless fun watching Wolvie slash his way through another bunch of seemingly dangerous but ultimately pathetic foes.

Wolverine was alright. Not bad but just very meh a lot of the time. Wolverine in sword/claw fights is good but it gets kinda samey especially as we've already ahd 4 films of it. It could have done with some other xmen. There are too many characters and most of them don't get much to do. I liked all the bits we saw of Japan but at the same time it was ridiculously Hollywood and every cliche was laid on. You get the feeling it's a medieval country rather than one of the most advanced on Earth. Lost in Translation did this so much better (I appreciate we're not talking about the same kind of film but still). I enjoyed it, Hugh Jackman is always a pleasure.

Pacific Rim was AWESOME :D! It featured giant robots beating up giant monsters :smash::smash::smash::smash:. That's all there is to it but it's done well and clips along nicely.

    I agree about Pacific Rim.
It was Nerdgasm all the way and after the movie I felt like making lovegasm to my wife. :)

The Soundtrack from Game of Thrones very own Ramin Djawadi was even better.

Totally worth your time and money.
The hidden Anime NGE fan in me was pleased as hell.
