Lol its been so long, so much has changed. I got banned from my other forum because they went fascist on everyone and went through a banning inquisition, so I'm here again n.n Between reading all my webcomics, college, and playing my new wii it feels like i have no time at all!

Haha... finally free of arm pain! The doctor-supervised (and medicated) dislocation of my shoulder unwedged the nerve and fixed my arm. I didn't wanted to go under the knife, so I'm more than glad it worked.

Two or three? At least double, or even triple the dose. As for the intensity getting more noticeable on each bowl... the cooking makes the peppers develop their kick, IIRC.

Work is almost over. I'm looking forward to a nice 13 hour nap once I get home. :D

I need to find a costume for a Halloween party we're going to. Parties = good. Wearing a costume to a party = lame. :bad: :rolling:

Well, looks like I'm not the only one returning.
(though from a much shorter absence!)

    Heya, Jigga.

But my landlord started having the same problems with an 'intermittent' wireless connection, so I've spent the last few days offline while we try various things - relocating the router/dsl modem pair, shuffling my various long pieces of Cat5 & Cat6 around, etc. In the end, he went out and bought a 25' Cat5 of his own, and we fished it up through the floor from the room the router was originally in, and up to the corner 'desk nook' he's got for his laptop, and I restored my 'old-new' wired connection.

My only concern is, if he's only going to have his laptop sitting in one location, why was he bothering with wireless in the first place?!?

ION, I'm seriously dithering over pre-ordering/purchasing the Orange Box just so I can play TeamFortress 2 with my clan - they're really getting interested in it and making me sooo jealous of all their early-bird antics in the beta you get access to for pre-ordering, and I missed out on their last excursion into BF2...but it's almost $50us, and my CC balance is starting to push into the four-digit range, and I'm not interested in anything else in the package. :mommy:

Welp, gotta get cleaned up; we're jaunting over to keumper's place for a Canadian Thanksgiving luncheon (a day early). It's nice having both Yanks and Canucks in the circle of friends in equal measures; you get twice as many big dinners! :D

This sucks. I can't go to bed until 10:30am...so I'm just loafing around on the net, and the cats are being *really* annoying. I've had to get up 4 times to make sure they're not killing each other.

We have snow on the mountains...all the way down to the city! The morning weather dude said that certain parts of the SLC suburbs reported snow flurries. Winter is here...and it's only Oct. 7th! :wail: :rolling:

Haven't posted on the BoM for absolutely ages. Too busy trying to get used to my first year of university.

It certainly is different! Already I'm sick of pasta (I need to get a cooking-crash course!).

    So, hello all.

    Morgoths great programming language classification:

    Divine: Lisp.
    Good: Javascript, Assembler and C.
Have not checked out yet but heard good things about: Erlang, Prolog, Haskell, Smalltalk and OCaml.
    --
    Large empty terrain.
    --
Not even worthy of contempt: PHP, Java, C#, C++, Basic.

Well, school forced me back to Java, and let me tell you that for someone who is used to something as elegant as Lisp, Java is hell.

Morgoth, you should definitely check out OCaml once. I worked with it a while ago and it's actually pretty cool. If you have never used a functional programming language it is a little weird a first, but actually not that hard to write simple things with once you get the hang of it.

EDIT: And now that I think of it; is Lisp a functional programming language?

    I like that.

We had our Thanksgiving early to avoid the in-laws. They're out at the cabin because the fishing is closed tonight (they left Friday night).

Bad weekend, not only does my son not get dropped off for my usual saturday with him, and with no explanation from his mother or her parents, all of who I tried contacting to find out what was going on, but I had the whole weekend off work and ended up on painkillers and anibiotics for a huge mother of an abcess infecting my lower jaw so i couldn't even have a few drinks to celebrate!

Good luck on the test tomorrow Stefanina.

I'm up at my moms place in the bush this weekend. It really is looking like fall here. Very few flowers and a lot of leaves on the ground. Our dinner was very good but I sure hate trying to check my email on her computer. Dial up sucks so much out here.

Stefanina - is it just a class final, or a certification exam? There's a dude at my school who is A+, NET+, and CCNA certified...and he's getting ready for the CCIE exam. My school doesn't do any MCSE stuff, so he was telling me he might transfer schools just to get certified in that too. The guy knows his stuff...but I think all those exams to get certified drove him nuts. :bad: Either that or he was born like that. :p

Yay for 12 hour naps! I finally woke up a little after midnight with a growling stomach and a slight caffeine withdrawal headache. So I had something to eat and a Mt. Dew and now I feel great! :D :rolling:
