What about rats and dire rats? Aren't they considered as vermin too?

[IMG] Nope, it didn't work for rats or dire rats. I remember taking my cleric (with the plant domain) into that elven temple that is in the beginning of SoU, the one where the kobolds flee into after their skirmish with the gnolls. Well, there were some rats and dire rats in the top floor of that temple and they didn't even flinch at my turn "vermin". Now on the other hand, spiders would. Even the spiders at the end of SoU in the buried city would turn no problem. I'm now taking that same cleric through HotU, I let you know if I find anything more. Haven't encountered any oozes yet, I just got started.

rats and other such disease carrying mammals are "animals".

D+D monsters (3.5 ed.) all fall into the categories of Abberations (the catch all category for anything that doesn't fit into other categories), Animals, Dragons, Elementals, Fey, Giants, Humanoids, Magical Beasts, Monstrous Humanoids, Outsiders and Undead. Generally anything that is a mammal with sub-human intelligence falls into the animal category (beasties with high Int or magical abilities end up as Magical Beasts).

    This is a bit off-topic.

Ilmater's Suffering mentioned about Outsiders. Exactly what are considered outsiders? I remember picking a couple of weapons in SoU that have bonuses against outsiders.

Devils, Demons, Celestials, Formains and Slaadi predominately in NWN. Essentially anything that comes from an outer plane.

Imps and Quasits too. In the Arcade Tower a single turn undead slaughtered bunches of them!
