No, the title is NOT misleading, a joke or a gigantic typo. This wonder can hook up on BOTH the Super Famicom AND MegaDrive -- known as the Super Nintendo and the Genesis, respectively. I'd take a Super Famicom over a SNES anytime, any place, anywhere... the North American Super Nintendo is, IMO, F'N ugly. The Super Famicom just looks better, and don't forget the slew of Japanese titles that never reached North America. As for the Mega Drive... well, I love the Genesis to death, games like Columns, the Shinobi games, ToeJam & Earl (close contender to the King of 4:20 games), and the trifecta of AWESOME Phantasy Star games, Sword of Vermillion, Warriors of The Eternal Sun, Altered Beast, Herzog Zwei, Castlevania Bloodlines, Cadash, Contra: Hard Corps, Cyborg Justice, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Mutant League Hockey/Football... I could go on and on and on talking about how much I love the Genesis. Yeah, I'm a Sega fanboy... screw Nintendo.

...that went out of hand. Anyway, back to the Nakitek controller... like I said, this wonder plays on both the SF/MD. How is that possible? Through the use of an adaptor. Want to play SNES? Just plug the 9-pin Genesis plug in the adaptor to convert it to SF/SNES, and plug it in.

The controller has six buttons, like a Genesis controller, shoulder buttons for SF/SNES games, three programmable buttons which are IMMENSELY helpful in fighting games to program a serie of moves, for example. If plugged into a Genesis, the controller is also smart enough to detect if the game you are playing uses three or six buttons, and sets itself in the proper mode automatically.

The price to pay for the convenience of a single controller for two consoles is the fact that this controller is BIGGER than the Genesis AND SNES/SF controllers. The shape also vaguely reminds me of Batman's logo. Still, I played Columns for hours with this wonderful controller, no problems. Shinobi plays like a breeze, too, now that I fixed the D-Pad cushion. One of the cushions had come loose and tore off, affecting my gameplay. I used an old near-death Genesis controller and swapped the cushion, and although it's not a 100% perfect fit, the D-pad is now SUPER SMOOTH.

Check out this awesome controller if you own a SNES, or a Genesis, or both. This controller performs superbly on both consoles, and add the convenience of one controller for TWO consoles, and you've got a solid recommendation.
