I was once DM for a Star-Wars roleplay pen & paper. The party received a distress signal from governor Sheman from planet Hermaphrodite. Needless to say, I wasn't DM for very long...

    My top four is
    1. Trell
    2. Risuparta ="Twigbeard"
    3. Mr. Bubbles :p
    4. Jackson

Also, the best WoW name ever after "iceicebaby" (for a gnome frost mage) is "Mojobeard".

2 good reasons not to play WoW. How can you expect to take characters with names like these seriously? :shake:

When you see a pink bearded gnome called iceicebaby riding around with a damn mammoth you're not supposed to take it seriously.

A pink mammoth would be neat...

If I had to play WoW I'd pick a sexually challenged devious elf exhibitionist and use a really bad pun as a name, a really bad one. So bad that I won't post it because I don't want anyone to use it. My precious...

I had a character on an RPG forum who was named Van Halfling, that made people laugh. :D

Well, one the long lasting names that I've used have been Ichor...

Other than that, almost no matter what game I've played I've been using Roen.

Then quite recently, when I was still studying biology, I started looking for tree names as character names, especially if I played a druid or a ranger. Roen of course fit there very well, since it sounds at least a little like 'rowan' (and can't really name a character after a certain Mr. Atkinson, so it's better without the w and e instead of a...)

So Lind is fine, Fern fits well, Oak, Elm etc...And one gets pretty good names by changing them a little, like 'Ellem' for instance or something....

Can't remember all the names I've used in the games, but usually it's just one name, since it breaks the immersion into the game when npc's call the player character by the whole name all the time...

For women I use Ethal, Rita, Reenie, Ermintrude, Gertrude and Freda

Men are normally Bert, Fred, Frank, Bob, George and Ernie

 I read too fats and instead of Ethal, I saw Ethanol... I was wondering if you were on drugs... :p

I don't like giving my characters names that are common to us. It would feel to weird to say "Frank, the red dragon killer''....

I'm kinda going the opposite way now in my old age. I think it's more realistic than having some ludicrous name for a character.

Dragon Age is funny in this regard. A load of the names used are Irish, so if you're from Ireland these 'exotic' names are the equivalent of everyone being called Frank or Bob. The pronounciations are off though.

Last P&P char I played was a thief, which I named "What?"

    "Roll a d20, what?"

    Priceless.
