    I guess body modification is a recreational activity so it fits this forum... anyway, this has come up in the chatroom recently. Basically, around here it seems that almost everyone under 40 either has a tattoo or several or is planning on getting them. To me it seems like a bizarre onset of a mass hysteria type of thing that I want no part of, but I realize that it basically boils down to a fashion trend.

    So let's hear everyone spill it, do you have tattoos, are you going to get one or why do you hate them. :D

    I'm under 40, but don't have and am not considering getting tattoos.

    I'm not really opposed to them, but can't think of anything that I'd find important enough to engrave into my skin (semi-)permanently. My sister has a few tattoos, small things which are to her not so different from wearing jewelry, I suppose. Nothing like some of my colleagues who have (plans to) tattoo their entire chest and arms. Mostly hot rod / biker kind of things.

    I'm turning 50 next month. No tats, no desire for tats, cannot fathom the current trend and am very thankful that both of my kids are dorky enough not to be interested.

    Hey I remember that conversation in the chatroom. I wish I could add something interesting to this thread but I don't have any tattoos either because I couldn't stand having anyone else's art on me. My sister got a tattoo of a heart on her hand because her grandson was born needing immediate heart surgery.

    I considered a full-body irezumi back when I was in much better shape. I reconsidered because I knew I couldn't stay that way. :shake:

    No tattoos, no piercings, no body modifications of any kind. Skin is your biggest organ. You should take care of it, not intentionally fuck it up.

    I've got a neck tattoo. It has deep personal meaning to me. Hurt like a b**ch getting it but was worth it honestly.
