One of my players has decided to quit my RP group due to real life responsibilities, so I find myself with an opening that needs to be filled. We're playing the Reign of Winter Pathfinder adventure path, using the Cypher ruleset (you need not be familiar with either). If anyone would be interested in joining us, please let me know.

It has been a century since the immortal witch Baba Yaga last visited the world, and the hour draws nigh for her return. But when she fails to appear in the frozen realm of Irrisen to usher in its newest ruler, pockets of winter begin to grow throughout the Inner Sea region. After 1,400 years of perpetual winter, the icy curse of Irrisen is spreading! What links do these strange blizzards and swaths of wintry landscapes have with Irrisen, and is there any truth to the growing rumors that the Witch Queen Elvanna has taken full control of the realm? Can her plans for the Inner Sea be thwarted, or will the Reign of Winter engulf the world?

    What is needed:
    1. Four hours of your life every week (real life permitting).
    2. A fair grasp on the Queen's English (written, not spoken).
    3. A semi-serious attitude toward RP (but not too serious).
    4. The ability to have fun while being brutally slaughtered.
The current time slot is scheduled for Wednesdays at 18h CET, but there's a good amount of wiggle room. We're using Maptool, so you'll need a computer with a fairly consistent internet connection that can run Java (works on almost any OS).

Gonna give this another bump, then I guess I'll go fishing elsewhere.

It's been ages since last did P&P, and i have no experience with pathfinder at all, but depending on the wiggle room i'd be interested to do at least a few sessions.

18:00 CET might be a bit too early though, as that's usually just about when i get home - if you don't mind me hopping in an hour into the session, or moving the starting time a bit that'd be great.

Like I said, you don't have to be familiar with anything. All relevant information will be provided.

We can probably bump the sessions by an hour or so, we're kinda used to starting late anyway.

Unfortunately I have a few too many commitments these days :(, otherwise I'd have jumped at the opportunity.

Believe me, I know. I've been losing players to real life responsibilities for years now. Serious jobs, small children, demanding partners, etc. It is what it is.

I think the saddest part for me is that I've "lost" all my fellow GMs. I love being the GM, but there are times I wish I could let someone else take over the reigns for a while.

Well that's just it - all these jobs, children and partners need to understand that there are more important things in life than them

And I think the problem with (G/D)Ms is linked - if people don't have time for the time spent playing, they certainly aren't going to have time for all the preparation associated with (G/D)Ming.

I don't see how anything could be more important than saving the world from eternal frost. :skeptic:

And yeah, of course it's linked. Being a GM is a massive investment. And we're a rare breed to begin with.

While I would consider dipping back into the RP world, the timing is prohibitive for me (9:00 a.m. my time is work time, not play time).

Well, considering that any time I have court that will definitely interfere, I suspect that you might not be correct. :p

Since my campaign is about to lose another player (at least for a while, as he pursues other ventures), I am once again recruiting.

Requirements remain the same, save that we're playing Wednesdays at 19h CE(S)T (usually about 3-4 hours).

If anyone's interested, let me know.

East Coast is 6 hours behind us (EDT is UTC-4, CEST is UTC+2), which puts the session at 1:00 PM Eastern time for about 3-4 hours. Unfortunately, this excludes just about everyone from the Western continent, unless you're a NEET or working graveyard shifts. :D

I could do 1:30 PM on Wednesdays. What do I need to play? What kind of players are the others?

Well, one of those players has been me for the past year.
I'll leave it to Keneth to fill you in on the details, but what i can tell you is that he's running the game using the Cypher system, though some houseruling/homebrew is thrown into the mix.
Before joining i only ever had experience with D&D's ruleset on pen and paper so it did take me some time adapt to the new ruleset, but i like to think i've mostly got the hang of it now.
