Stuck in the swamp after picking up the silver object

    Playing this game over on a new PC. Just in the swamp to find the sliver object at the beginning of the game. I know picking up the silver object is supposed to immediately start a convo with the fighter NPC (which allows for the completion of this quest and to move on in the storyline), but nothing happens. Any ideas guys?

    Do you have the right object? Empty all the chests. It should be in the room with all the lizard men.

    yes, I'm sure of it. It's in the dead-end room, just had a small boss fight. The silver object that gives the holder 10 more HP by holding it in his inventory.

    I recall there is a dialog option to stay in the room. Perhaps you accidentally triggered that one. I think you can either talk to Bevil, mess with the chest again, or leave the room. Maybe if you choose to stay you have to walk out of the dungeon manually. I'm sorry, I haven't used those options in several years and I'm fuzzy on the details.

    Have you tried going back to South Harbor and talking to Degan? He might act like you've completed the quest.

    Unfortunately, I have. nothing happens. I started over again and saved my game just prior to opening the chest this time around. Still no convo happens. Maybe uninstalling and reinstalling (although I have no idea how to do that)?
