How do I kill his mustard jellies and how do you get to the (hidden) viseable room in the cave afterwards?

Fire or acid damage. And slashing. See here, there are probably other threads about them too if you search.

Read that thread before I posted this, just looking for new ideas. Mostly looking for the entrance to that room!

Which room though ? naracillius is standing out in the open in the overworld - the only room i can imagine you would be talking about are the 3 'tombs' that are scattered throughout the area, which all lead to the same area.
the entrances are listed here : http://www.forgottenwars.com/bg1/ar5000.htm as 'revenant tomb' 'ghoul tomb' and 'ghast tomb'

He might be talking about the hole that is the one-way exit from Nashkel mines.

Ahh right - i could've sworn that you get a tooltip text about how the entrance is unusable if you click it until you've actually gone through the nashkel mines though ?

ok, now I see. I totally missed the ghoul tomb. Once I went in there I seen the room again only from the other side meaning that is the revenant room that I was in first! thank you for clearing this up xosmi :) (and yes there is text telling you you can't go back in the cave which I never ment, kenneth)

IIRC all those small caves share the same larger interior map, so if you walk into one you can see partial outlines of the others as well; I assume that's what Sorvo meant.

I assume this is because we can run the game in higher resolutions now, allowing for it to shopw on the screen all at once, something the original game never accounted for.

I think it was the same in the original version too actually, those cave maps are tiny.

Mustard jellies? I suppose fire and acid works, but only if you get it from weapons as additional damage, because they have 100% magic resistance. Crushing and slashing works, piercing doesn't. Strangely, missile damage does work (which is (almost?) always piercing damage).

    They have:
    • 50% cold resistance (magic cold as well, though I'm not sure what the difference is),
    • 100% electricity resistance,
    • 60% crushing resistance,
    • 100% piercing resistance,
    • 30% slashing resistance,
    • 85% missile resistance,
    • 100% magic resistance,
So fire and acid is effective, slashing should be more effective than crushing, but expect to do only 2-3 damage per hit anyway.

It's a completely different damage type as far as the game is concerned.

What gives one and what gives the other type of damage then? Is magic cold only from spells?

As far as I know, nothing. Magic cold and magic fire were both bugged (and possibly still are) in that they crashed the game if you killed anything with them (probably not linked to proper death animations as normal fire and cold are). In PnP, magic or supernatural elemental damage is capable of bypassing normal energy resistance, so i guess that was the idea, but it was never fully realized. In a few rare cases, I think the damage is simply substituted with pure magic damage. The values still exist within the engine though.

That's odd, but then, the game is full of oddities like that. I'm not sure anymore, but do you need +1 weapons to be able to hit mustard jellies?

By the time i start encountering mustard jellies i'm usually already equipped with +1 and better weapons, but i'm fairly confident that (non-piercing)mundane weapons should work just as well.

I've always used magical weapons, such as a +1 or better quarterstaff or sword, to kill those jellies. Having antidotes or spells for curing poison can be a lifesaver in this battle, too.
