Went tubing in Wisconsin this weekend. Even the wee ones came. The 3 yr old was a bit scared but opended up after the first couple of runs. My 19-month old LOVED it fromt eh get-go. We were weary at first, as she was in her own tube. But she rode alongside me as my wife recorded it. They resort had a side run that is a bit slower for the little ones. She had a huge grin on her face the whole time. It was an awesome experience just watching her....:). And I got to pound some Fat Tires once the kids were in bed!

    Dennou Coil is awesome.
And the best part is: the technology to do that exists.

Living in a postcyberpunk world is wonderful. I love technology.

[IMG] I think I prefer Discovery or whatever they are called, a british brand I believe, they do nice fajitas and a good range of separates to buy like jalapenos and the pastes and sauces.

Hey all, looks like the old guard posting today. Dang coffee is cold, going for more. Hey, found a old Evo comp and got it almost for free. BG works a lot better under XP don't it folks?

[IMG] Migraine is almost gone, but it lasted four days ... ... It started on Sunday, slammed me down for a day, slowed me down for the next. Today there is nothing but an echo of it left. I can live with that.

[IMG] Must admit I've got BG games working fine under vista and windows 7 without any hassle whatsoever - including mods and just installing to the plain old program files folder. Yet everyone else seems to have so much hassle I'm not sure what I'm doing differently.

I haven't had problems either peeps. I installed in XP compatibility mode, and I've had no problems.

This has worked well for me also, although I have experienced periodic crashes in Windows 7. Some of these may be related to using the Widescreen mod, and running games at 1920 x 1080 resolution. I know this has been responsible for most of my crashes in PS:T.

For the most part, these haven't been overly problematic (except for a few places in PS:T where I had to lower my resolution, like the art gallery).

My heavily modded games seem to crash more often in Win 7. Especially with the widescreen mod, as Marceror pointed out. That goes both the BG and IWD series. I do have a vanilla BG2 install as well that seems to run smooth....

[IMG] How odd, must admit haven't used 7 much. Guessing compatability modes don't help much then?

I think the cardinal point here is that you have to know about computers to make an operating system work with a game. If you are like me (a person who knows Jack $*!t about such matters) getting the damn game to run properly under the best of circumstances is a nightmare. I just use computers to write with, I'm not skilled.

[IMG] I think I was quite privilaged growing up where it was just me and my mother when I was little if something went wrong we had to sort it out ourselves. I got given a laptop when I was seven that barely worked that I had to get the drivers for the sound and such from a friend with the internet and at the time a fair few games had demos you could make from the games so I'd make myself a demo of games to take home as well. I then made the mistake of showing my mother Windows 95 comes with Solitaire...

Also meant growing our own vegetables with our neighbours, grandad Eddie on one side had a largish vegetable plot and grew potatoes in bins while Les and Bet next door grew beans and courgettes/marrows. We'd sometimes grow tomatoes but the slugs were terrible buggers. I had a patch in the garden that I grew different herbs and I learnt how to dry out seeds so they kept and could be grown from different fruits and veggies so I could go round to my neighbours and trade herbs and dried flowers and saplings for stuff.

My neighbours were also the first elderly people I'd met since my grandparents so they became Grandad Eddie and Grandad and Grandma Les and Bet :p

Aww finished Dragon Age 2's demo within an hour, talk about in media res beginning though; you start the game and voilà you're surrounded by darkspawns.

I was weary the controls would be lacking on a console version but, no, it's actually smooth, I was gladly surprised. Anyway, will pick it up on the 8th.

My Grandmother died this morning. She's been ill for a few weeks and we knew it was coming. Doesn't make it any easier though.
