Well, d'oh - I pronounced the word wrongly, and bit it as a result! :D

'mistophoroi' - ancient Greek for 'mercenaries'.

Pronouncing words is dangerous business. Don't try to pronounce this at home kids, proper supervision is advised.

Sjibbolet, a Dutch word with Hebrew roots (Yiddish?) Indictates a sentence or word that when pronounced shows that the speaker either is or is not a native speaker. Examples: Scheveningen, Scilt ende Vrient.

Jeremiah's Lament (Klaagliederen van Jeremia). Morgy, you should go to church! You'd love the words you'll learn there. :D Church had an important eefect on the growth of my Dutch vocabulary. :D

I learned that the word Yankee most likely comes from either Jan Kees (common Dutch name, esp back in the 17th century) or Janke (Flemish for little John, a nickname for the Dutchies).

I never heard of 'regurgitate' before. Apparently it means Rush/flow/pour back. Is it also used as "throw up"?

I was meaning that there is a difference to emitting due to illness, drink or whatever than to doing it to feed the young

Would regurgitating include some wilfulness/intend, where throwing up is more or less uncontrolled?

"Stickiness" - when the inconvenience in changing a supplier outweighs the inconvenience caused by bad service.

For example, consider switching bank. Each time your bank slaps you with yet another fee for using their services, and/or cuts down on these same services, you might want to find another bank. But it's more than moving your savings account - you will also have to move automatic payments for utilities and rent etc., tell your clients (if you're running a business) to send money to the new account number, move your credit cards, your retirement fund, and a whole lot more.
