[IMG]Though it's not a game we'd usually cover here at SP, we thought Fable 3 to be close enough to our usual fare to appeal to some of our players here. After the amazing success of its predecessor, we all have high hopes for this sequel, which Lionhead claims will hit the shelves "this holiday" on PC and XBox 360. Here's a snip from the announcement relating to the limited collector's edition:

Wrapped up in a distinctive box created in the likeness of a book from “Fable III,” the contents include:

    · A new quest: Uncover the mystery of the haunted forests of Silverpines and earn the legendary sword, Wolfsbane, deadly against wolves and balverines.

    · Exclusive location: Unlock a new region, ideal for settling down with a family and discovering new treasures.

    · “Fable III” playing cards: Created by Lionhead, these cards depict every type of character in “Fable III,” including Heroes, royals, rebels and villains from across Albion and beyond.

    · Guild Seal Coin: The coin features a Good side (blue) and Evil side (red) to assist players in making critical decisions that will impact the fate of the world forever.

    · A new dog breed: Renowned for its loyalty, the Boxer is a brave canine companion worthy of greatest Queens and Kings.

    · One unique outfit: Unearth one male and female outfit from the mysterious, faraway land of Aurora, a new destination in your “Fable III” adventures.

Good news. I've played both Fable I and II and despite being short they have some great entertainment value. Thanks for the link Urithrand. ;)

A coworker kept telling me how great Fable I and II were. I played them. I wasn't impressed. I won't be playing Fable III.

I thoroughly enjoyed both of the first two, and will most certainly be playing the third :D

Fable is not a revolution in CRPGs but it is a thoroughly enjoyable game for casual gamers or more serious gamers who don't mind not taking things too seriously.

Fable 1 for PC was a game worthy of the budget bin. Nice for 20 Euro. Not up to standards.

Port it if you must, do not expect that we run to the store if it is anything like the first one.

[IMG] The collectors edition is also xbox only.

Wasn't there already a topic on this in the news section? I can't find it now... Perhaps I'm just going mad!

I'm fairly interested by this one. I haven't played Fable 2 (hopefully they will release it on PC now? It would be rather lame to get 1 and 3 only), but I found Fable 1 to be quite enjoyable. Gameplay- and story- wise, I don't think it held a candle to its competitors (KotOR, Morrowind, NWN), but it felt fresh and different than the darker LotR/D&D approach. Hopefully the port won't be too bad.

I wouldn't bet on Fable 2 being released for the PC now. It's been too long especially if they want to release Fable 3 for the PC.

But don't worry too much about missing out on Fable 2. I've played it at a friend's since I don't own an Xbox (I don't have a TV either). The game is very short and way too easy. It's fun while it lasts though. I actually like Fable 1 a lot more (2 adds many mini games and looks better but the main story is rather lame).
