Danish Mother Video

    A few days ago a video appeared on Youtube, apparently from a young Danish woman looking for the father of her young child.

    The video showed the woman "Karen" with a child on her lap telling the viewers that she was looking for the child's father. She told that they had met in town one night, had too much to drink, and had ended up at her place. The father, she told, was a tourist.

    In reality the video was created by VisitDenmark, an official Danish tourist organization financed by the Danish state.

    After massive critique in Denmark the video was removed from Youtube earlier today (Sept. 14). At the time of writing it can still be viewed here.

    I think these comments are pretty much spot on.

    In my opinion the video was in very bad taste. It might have been suitable for promoting safe sex, but not for promoting a country (except if the objective was to promote it for "sex tourism"). But at least people will now remember Denmark for other things than Mohammed Cartoons. :rolleyes:

    Sooo, am I getting the right impression that they want guys to take a holiday in Denmark and have sex with the locals?

    Are danish women in the need of a man in their...lives?

    Is the danish reproduction rate dependent on the tourism rates and is it because of the lack of "real men" around?

    So the message they were trying to get across is that slutty women are plentiful in Demark? If so, and since most tourism ads try to exaggerate the good points of a country, then are we to conclude that calling Denmark women sluts is actually a compliment? :nono: :nuts:
