possible secret area- not mentioned in walkthrough-Lady of pain

    I thought it was weird that the walkthrough didnt nmention this area at all nor have I seen it mentioned in a forum.

    After decimating all opposition in the alley of angles the Lady of pain appears and then imprisons you in a maze ( just you not your companions) You also find a special hammer and a journal within the maze. You have to navigate your way out of the maze.


    How did i get sent to the maze? I took (what's her name) assignment and killed RWilliam and then went after blackrose. Instead of killing blackrose I agreed to kill her. After destroying both gangs I returned to blackrose who challenged me and I pointed out that I couldnt be killed and then he backed out and no more dialog options were possible. I killed him too and when i was leaving thr slley the lady of pain appeared and mazed me. Another possible thing i may have done to trigger the maze was killing the lim lim that killed the mages.

    In the maze you encounter the shadows that appear to have been stalking you.

    has anyone found the right combo of portals to go into to get out of the maze?

    The Maze is no secret, and described in the Walkthrough I read for ps:t (can't remember which, possibly D. Simpson if he's made one).

    Iirc you get imprisoned either if you worship the lady figurine from the curiosity shop, or if you let that fiend from the cube loose (not sure about this one, just remember there being two ways).

    Yes found my way out, no I can't remember the system :p .

    You also get sent to the maze for joining the cult of Aoskar by speaking to Aola in the cathedral. I don't think you get mazed for wiping out the entire Alley; you can only be mazed for killing innocent citizens and in particular Dabus.

    Spoiler warning - how to get out:

    The portals in the maze are ordered as a clock. The exit portal is at 7 o'clock but it is not accessible on foot. All other portals lead to the diametrically opposite portal, but alas, 1 o'clock is destroyed. However, the journal you found at the campsite will give you a hint: You have to walk through the same portal twice without hitting any other portal:

    Go through the 4 o'clock portal. You will emerge at 10 o'clock. Find your way back to the 4 o'clock portal and walk through it again. You will now emerge at 7 o'clock. Walk through this portal to find yourself back in the Alley.

    Oh .... and NEVER EVER piss off the Lady of Pain again, you hear me? You don't get a second chance - if you annoy her again, she will kill you - permanently!

    Oh yeh! I knew it was somehow (well, more or less :p ) related to the cube. I remember I got imprisoned but it was indeed because I joined the cult of Aoskar and not because of the cube.

    Thanks for the replies. After I typed the question i went back and managed to get out of the maze. I should have read the journal I picked up there because it gives the hint.

    Thanks for replying back. Its my 3rd time through this game and its nice to know there are still people who around who had as much fun as i did.
