    Point of information. After an hour or so and many people I found out that Win10 will not emulate XP and might not like directx 9c. No solid answer on the last one. I gave up talking to ignorant people at Microsoft and I hope my info is correct!:mad:

    It might not do so inherently, but it should be able to virtually emulate older systems. XP is 13 years old now, they can't just drag old software support with them indefinitely.

    I hope you are right. I'm going to load 10 on the RV4 but not the old Dell. Kinda keep the options open. If I can make it work then I'll load it on the old machine. I've learned long ago not to do everything at once!

    Setting up a VM (such as VirtualBox) to run XP shouldn't be much of a problem, but it'll probably take up quite a bit of RAM to run both Win10 and XP in a VM at the same time. The only alternative I can think of is having a dual-boot with both versions of Windows which requires setting up a separate partition for the other system. Both methods have their pros and cons.

    Why get a new operating system at all? :2c:
    e.g. I´m currently using Windows XP SP3 and miss only out on 2 games that would interest me and require a 64-bit operating system. As long as I don´t miss more I´m not going to change.

    Hell, yesterday I used my Windows XP machine to emulate a C-64 and played "Kennedy Approach" :coffee2:

    You may miss some stuff on new webpages using Windows XP - but I already block most of that purposely with Adblock+ and NoScript addons... :cool:
