hahaha yes I am a power gamer. I always try and make the best party or character I can BUT I also can be a tad say "shallow" not really the right word but I don't always pick best. For example I will often use the gear that makes my character look sweet instead of "The Best" but thats not really an issue in this game.

Mew to this forum but not to BG2.
i think that Celestial Fury is a massive weapon and have had Valygar wielding it deep into Throne of Bhaal as his main weapon.

Belm as an offhand weapon for Jaheira especially is top notch. She can utilise one of the great clubs as her main option , until she gets Specrtal Brand then its Scimitar hell for opponents

The Impaler is outrageously good (almost unfair if upgrade by the Upgrade Items Mod) and if you are playing Tactics then Bloodbane is filthy !

Tuigan bow is a cool range weapon (akin to a machine gun) esp in an archers hands with improved haste.

Equalise , as has been stated is much under rated and is a solid main weapon but an awesome offhand one.

The Silver Sword is brilliant at dispatching enemies particularly after casting GM or Doom.

The wounding weapons are great also , Jhor and Blackbloood and FoA.
