Fantasy RPG book
Well, and really, everything has been done before. The trick is always trying to make it new and fresh. For me, I think the freshness (and difficulty) is the fact that, so far, the antagonist is boredom. So, it's fresh because they're not just killing off some evil usurping demonic mage king-wannabe, but the difficulty is that the antagonist really does need to be personified somehow in a character, and I'm not sure how to make a character out of boredom.
I'm thinking of using Fantopia as the working title, since the land (Fantaric) is basically a utopia in which there is absolutely nothing wrong . . . which is why it's so boring. I'm not too happy with my first scene, although I read it to my students because I think it's useful for them to see that their teacher writes, too, and sometimes badly (especially if it's a first draft). There are some things that were fun to write, but I think as they came out, they don't quite work.Posted Thu, 9th May '13 at 1:17am by Vorona

This sounds like it has potential. I have to admit that at first I thought "this has been done before" (because we all play these games after all), but the idea of real world people entering those roles is intriguing.Posted Thu, 9th May '13 at 12:25am by Gaear

Melancholy Awards
This is so good Vorona. Beautiful really. Thank-you for this small piece of truth. Positive reinforcement is the only real way to teach someone something of value.Posted Sun, 5th May '13 at 4:34am by Dice

In the Mind of the Indecisive
I did figure out how to get to the keep and out of Helgem. I also was able to get it to a third person view -- the mouse wheel didn't work earlier in the game, but once my hands were untied, it let me. I am still really bad at targeting, and in general, I find the combat frustrating. I also can't seem to get the healing spell to work. I click the correct mouse button, but all that happens is that my character's hand moves and shines a little -- as if she can't really cast the spell. Maybe I don't have enough Magicka? But that seems odd since it's a first level spell. A first-level character should have enough, right? I tried Googling the problem, but all I got were specific weird characters (healing thralls, healing as a vampire, etc.). Oh well, now I'm rambling again!Posted Sun, 24th Mar '13 at 5:03pm by Vorona

Stomach problems and randomness
Yes Vorona I was able to see normally which was one indication to the doctors that it was a virus. I was lucky.Posted Sun, 24th Mar '13 at 5:32am by Dice

Stomach problems and randomness
I knew it had a name, but I couldn't remember what it was! I seem to have a pretty serious case of it. Dragon Age: Origins is the only game I've ever finished. I didn't even get to level cap during my misguided attempt at World of Warcraft.Posted Sat, 16th Mar '13 at 11:40pm by Vorona

Stomach problems and randomness
I hate unexplainable medical problems. I recently had an eye virus that made my left eye swell up like a MMA fighter. Had to go halfway across town and wait in a hospital emergency only to find out there wasn't much I could do about it but ice it and use saline drops.
It went away in a couple days but it really made me appreciate my health.
Sorry that you have to be careful about what you eat Vorona, I hope everything straightens out for you

Yeah - and I do worry too much. We've established that my worrying is also related to my stomach issues. I'll be sure to try out the Bob Marley thing!Posted Wed, 13th Mar '13 at 5:46am by Vorona
